“I got the real VIP treatment at this local restaurant. My mom and I had the curry chicken with roti. The food was so delicious I didn't bother to snap a picture. So I grabbed an oxtail dish to go. Excellent food and first class service!“

There are so many Jamaican restaurants to choose from in Poughkeepsie that serve the same menu & never have what you want to order etc. I was so happy when I got my meal bc it was freshly cooked right out of the pan. The portion was enough for 2 people and to top it off they have home made ice cream 🤤 The owner Simone introduced herself & was so polite & courteous. They have amazing homemade juices/punch such as, carrot punch, peanut punch, sorrel, Irish moss, carrot juice, and beet root juice. Some of my favorite foods from Sophia’s Homestyle Café includes, peanut porridge, carrot porridge, the fried chicken, the stew, peas, the goat soup, fried dumpling and with ackee and salt fish,and brown stew fish with rice and peas… The list truly could go on, but I think you get the drift! “We made a last-minute trip here from Pennsylvania and I have to tell you the food was out of this world. Oh my God it’s a small hole in the wall place highly recommend the food. The mac & cheese was to die for your socks will fly off so so good I had the fried dumpling. I haven’t had the fried dumpling in over 10 years. It was amazing. We ordered the fried fish with the rice and peas and cabbage, and it did not disappoint. Great service, friendly owners welcoming by love this place thank you you guys.“
