“Tina and her sister took great care of us. Our pet was welcome and they were so gracious and kind. Shrimp was terrific. Bacon cheeseburger was done exactly as ordered. Great price, awesome atmosphere. We met friends had a few drinks had a really good time. Highly recommend.“

I had the Chicken Spiedie (SPEE-dee, for the uninitiated — a Southern Tier classic) — large chunks of marinated chicken on a sub roll with mac salad and a pickle. The sandwich was genuinely tasty, though it got noticeably salty toward the end. Worth ordering; just something to be aware of. The sauce was a special edition version of their spiedie blend, which was a nice touch.

My wife went with the chargrilled jumbo wings — our first experience with charred chicken of any kind. It's a distinctive flavor that takes a moment to settle into, but once it does, it's interesting and satisfying. Came with three dipping sauces plus blue cheese and celery. A full spread.

My order was supposed to come with fries and they got missed, but we shared my wife's, so no real harm done. Lemon waters all around rounded out the meal.

Our server was the kind of attentive that doesn't tip into hovering — checked in on us at the right moments and otherwise gave us space to eat and catch up with our friend. That's harder to get right than it sounds.

On the next visit, we're eyeing the Nachos Supreme.“
