Like many of the eateries here, this is no-frills and captures the essence of Fuzhounese cuisine. The restaurant is named after the signature dish, one that every Fuzhounese grew up eating. Simply heartwarming on a frigid day.

Friendly people, fresh food, jovial place. Big fan of their Fuzhou oyster cake.

Pretty good Fuzhou cuisine restaurant. Come here for your typical peanut noodles, Fuzhou wonton and fish balls. Price has increased but still reasonable overall. They’ve been around for a very long time. Now it’s newly renovated. There are no bathrooms. Pretty much can’t find parking in this area.

I've never tried fuzhounese food before, so my fuzhounese friends recommended this place to me. According to them, this is the place known by every fuzhounese person and is most authentic. I went at around 8pm which was quite late. I got everything my friends told me to try, except the fried oyster pancake since they ran out. The Bian Rou was actually like tiny wonton, which was different from what I imagined. I got the stir fry noodle as well, it was very flavorful and tasted even better when I added Sriracha and soy sauce. I also got their fried taro pancake which was my favorite, it was so flavorful and crispy, though it is the end of the day. Bian Rou and noodle were 3 dollars each, with the taro pancake only being a dollar. It's unbelievable how much food you can get with such cheap price. I'm definitely coming back to have the taro cake again and will try the fried oyster pancake.

Feel a little silly writing a review for such an already well known hole in the wall spot - the typical customers who come here are most likely not using Yelp BUT this does mean that this can be a great find for a yelper who is looking for something authentic, new, and tasty! Fuzhounese "small eats" are served in this small spot serving the community for a long time. My own fuzhounese mother's go to for something quick authentic and cheap, it now has a special place in my heart. Everything here is in Chinese but you can get by ordering on the large wall with pictures of the food and numbered dishes as the menu. They only really speak Chinese and I think they're cash only. BAN MIAN (FJ PEANUT BUTTER NOODLES) The classic go to fuzhounese snack, best served with a bowl of hot wonton soup - each item costing $3. Flavored with peanut butter, soy sauce, sesame oil this makes a simple but delicious sauce for the straight noodles that runs just a bit on the runny side. Satisfying sweet and savory and washed down with HOT wonton soup (give it a minute) that comes out so quick. DING BIAN Shreds of noodles that are cooked on the side of a pot and shaved off with a broth that is savory, with veggies and sometimes dried baby shrimp. Good flavor despite its clear color. Another classic and good to get with the below to cut the fattiness of the fried items Give a try to FJ fried oyster cake/donut for dipping into the soup, or fried taro triangle for something really different.

The photo is not showing the correct store but I know which one it is referring to. Overpriced and found hair and bugs in my food.

- dian bian decent.- the peanut noodles were also good, just not as good as shu fu Jiao-fried oyster cake was decent. Does not include oysters but it was really cheap.Gets the job done, decent local fj spot. Interior looks ALOT better now after the redesign.

I believe this is the OG food court! All the food here is authentic & comes from different regions of China. Not very clean, possibly language barriers & wobbly stools but that’s the experience of it.
