Rated them on grubhub, and making sure I rate them here. Esca’s is hands down the best pizzeria in the area (including Howard Beach). Every time we’ve ordered from them we’re impressed. Usually we get a mushroom/pepperoni pizza and their outrageously delicious chicken parm garlic knot, both of which are always awesome. Today I tried a La Norma pizza and am once again impressed. Awesome work all around from the chefs to the delivery guys. They always cook good food and always deliver with a smile. Please consider staying open later, as there’s been times we wanted to order from you but couldn’t due to closing hours! I look forward to trying more of your dishes!

However, this shop far exceeds expectations and offers you so much more than just pizza. The owner, John, is passionate about his craft and puts a lot of thought into his menu items, leaving you with a well-rounded experience of high-quality, great-tasting foods to choose from. Also, you don't have to feel bad about eating here because he emphasizes wholesome ingredients you can pronounce. I told John the other day, John, this is a pizza shop; what am I doing coming in here for your burger?! Once he debuted his burger, I bought it consecutively for months; that's how good his food is. The other day, I had his buffalo chicken sandwich, and it literally turned out to be the best buffalo chicken sandwich I ever had. The man is single-handedly competing with and outperforming all the junk fast food chains in the area. And don't even get me started on their desserts. Thank you, John! We appreciate your business! Thank you for being the pizza shop we didn't know we needed!

Escas is the only place I go to get my pizza around here!! I have been eating here for months now and I refuse to go anywhere else. It is so much better than some of the more well known spots. It’s really that good! The owners are so friendly and have some of the best customer service I have seen. They always ask how I’m doing and create a very welcoming environment. All of their pizzas are amazing but I really like mine with meatball and light garlic. They also have some smaller items like the chicken parm garlic knot and Philly egg rolls for $4 that are great if you want a little something extra on the side. Probably my favorite pizza I’ve ever had along with some spots in CT. I would recommend for anybody to order from here!

Stellar pizza, absolutely a hidden gem and extremely underrated! Definitely worth making a trip for. The crisp undercarriage + crust and extremely high quality ingredients all make this one of the best I’ve had in NYC. The zeppoles are a must as well, and the service was unrivaled too. The pizza was really light too, and you can’t go wrong with either the margherita and the classic, and well done is the way to go. Will definitely be coming back!

AMAZING PIZZA!! The margarita pizza was really good with flavorful sauce, olive oil and fresh basil. undercarriage was phenomenal and perfect crisp crust. Truly a wood fired pizza. First time having such good pizza outside of Brooklyn. Really great service as well and they gave us free desserts to try. Definitely coming back again.
