A few years ago, I was hired to write a series of articles about regional Italian cuisine. Since then, I have been looking for traditional Italian gelato. Until yesterday, I have been consistently disappointed. But this? It was absolutely EVERYTHING I had dreamed about. The prices weren't ridiculous, the bathroom was PRISTINE, the staff were helpful and friendly and it was incredibly, amazingly delicious. My only complaint is that I live too far away from your stores to get it very often. But about that? My hips are less upset about the distance. :) I will definitely be back, though!
They always have 4 vegan gelatos (dark chocolate is wonderful) and sometimes seasonal flavor is vegan too (changes every few months.) They are often not sure if cones are vegan
The flavors are like no other. I would recommend to anyone who was a delicious dessert!
Line was out the door but it moved quickly. They had a good variety of options and you can sample before making a purchase. Favorite flavor I tried was Ferrero Rocher.

The guys that helped us gets 110%. The gelato is super delicious. Among our favorites were the figo, Ferrero R and I forgot the one that I got but it had caramel. People that work there are friendly and helpful.

I’d dare to say that Carvel is better. I’m Italian I’ve been living in the big Apple for six months and I would not be so excited for this ice cream as you folks are. Toooooo much expensive for an average ice cream, without personality… stracciatella, the village, yogurt, they all seem the same flavor. I’m sorry but here in New York you are so used to label as “italian”, food and recipes that has so poor quality and has nothing to do with the Italian tradition. Figo…Very disappointing. The only place where I ate a great Italian ice cream in NYC was in the East Village.

The best gelato I've had anywhere (maybe I didn't get the right stuff when I was in Italy ?). I recommend Figo to all my friends and always take people when they visit Astoria. Love this place!

ice cream was mid, not bad (i got chocolate and coffee flavored) but the worst part is that they give you these tiny little cups and it melts all over your hands, why not just use cups that the ice cream fits in
I have not take any picture yet but this place have one of the best ice creams, my favorite flavor is Figo, and pistachio. The neighborhood is nice, close to many places to eat, the streets are nice to walk by while you enjoy your ice cream.
