We were the only ones in there and the server took forever. The seafood boil was SO SALTY. This certainly isn’t southern food.

I came in with my boyfriend and mom. Super delicious cuisine, warm ambiance, and exceptional service. The friendly waitress added to the overall delightful experience, making it a must-visit for those seeking quality dining in a welcoming atmosphere.

See this restaurant on Groupon. And purchased 50 dollars one. In the afternoon,I checked with the staff in the phone that it closes at 10pm(the google and restaurant sign says close at 12am). I was intended to call for an order for take out. But the girl on the phone says 18% gratuity is also included in take out order. So I want to change to dine in instead. And then the girl said they close at 9pm. And it was already 8:40pm when I called. So I have to make it to go with no choice. When I pick up the order, I asked the girl if the gratuity is charged even I walk in making an order to go without using any Groupons. She said yes, and she was not able to remove the fee. Does it make sense to charge 18% gratuity on take out orders? If the owner see the review, you can talk to me. I need an explanation. I work in restaurants too, I never heard of gratuity on takeout orders.

My brother and I went to Gula for brunch on NYE. It wasn't busy, but it's a small space, there were 3 other tables: 2 two tops and 1 ten top. Our server, Talia, was friendly and attentive. The brunch drink menu is limited with only a orange juice mimosa flavor. The white and red sangrias are an "acquired taste", tart and strong. My brother ordered the chicken and waffles and enjoyed his meal. I ordered the steak and eggs. The eggs and potatoes were cooked well, but my steak was lukewarm and only cooked medium on the ends. The steak wasn't freshly seared and tasted like it was reheated, which was disappointing.I wouldn't return to the restaurant or suggest it to anyone.

Place was empty and music was a little loud. Beware undisclosed: Waitress tacked on 18% gratuity automatically even for only a table of two. This is normally accepted for party of 6+, not 2!. Unlikely to return given the deceptive hidden practice. Now we know Why they were empty.

The food is good but not great. The service on the other hand doesn't even deserve a one. Every time I go there they give me a difficult time where I want to sit even though the place is 90% empty. One time I went there and even though it was 75% empty I was told it was no room inside and I have to sit outside. After sitting outside for about 15 minutes. The waitress came and said oh we do have room inside. Out of 10 or 12 tables only three were occupied on the inside. This last time I come out I asked if I could sit by the window. I'm holding those for somebody. At that time. There was only one other table occupied by three people. I was there for about an hour and a half eating dinner. The three people left. And two women came in and sat at the same table. Where I asked to sit was never occupied by anyone the whole time I was there for an hour and a half. Plus during the hour and a half I threw it a waitress three times once when I sat down. Once when I ordered the food. Once when I was serve my food. 90% of the time the waitress sat in the back of the restaurant. Looking at her cell phone. I guess she's not very motivated since they automatically add a 18% tip. I really do not recommend going there unless you get one of the 50% off Groupons

I was quite disappointed after reading so many reviews and seeing the menu online. I was in the mood for chicken and waffles and when I got there...no chicken and waffles to be found. My husband wanted gumbo and there was no gumbo, the menu was revamped. Felt like the old bate and switch occurred. We stayed and the food was good, but no matter how good it could have been when they didn't have what was advertised, its always a disappointment. Service was good, and the restaurant was clean and comfy. I don't know if I will be back

Cute cozy looking place. I sat at a table that had a water glass clearly filthy and requested a new glass. The prices for drinks & food was a bit on the upper end. Ordered chicken skewers & lobster roll. I was extremely disappointed with the serving size. Portions are very small and skimped for what you pay for. Also, the silverware received was dirty too. I would never come back. Thank god there was a Groupon that made me feel a bit better.
