Great service! Sushi Omakase for the most part was excellent, except for the Toro which was oddly chewy, perhaps just a bad cut, but overall we had a memorable experience. Will definitely come again when back in NY.

Simply subpar, dry hardened and tasteless fish, passionless service, dishes dumped quickly without explanation typical to omakase, no description of preparation or toppings, counter is low and cramped, a bad experience devoid of any level of sophistication

Nice surprise. Fresh ingredients, excellent pairing of toppings and sauces on each piece, nice waiter. Def going back.

A laid-back omakase spot in Long Island City offering incredible value. For $118, you get 18 courses with generous portions and sushi fishes were fresh and tender. On top of that, they served us complimentary sake, and the service was warm and attentive (they gave us a handwritten bday card too!). Overall, it’s a true bang-for-your-buck experience and a highly recommended choice for a night out in LIC!!

Food was exceptional and Kaiyo served some omakase dishes that I will remember for years. Service was okay. Nice people and great effort made but not what I expected for the price tag.

Had a wonderful date there on a Friday night. Their wait staff was swift and were attentive to any question. The 18 course meal was worth the price and we walked away full and satisfied. We loved the oyster starter and fatty sushi among other great dishes. We were lucky to enjoy the restaurant by ourselves and it's already a cozy space. We'd love to come again when we're in the area.

Very fresh and delicious omakase. We tried the 18 course, it was worth it! The king salmon and the toro were some of our favorite bites (I also loved the giant mound of ginger on our plates!) Torched red snapper and eel were also divine! Service was friendly and attentive.

Only note was that a few could have used a touch more soy sauce or other sauce, would be helpful to provide on the side.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had! Thank you to Ian, Andrew and the entire staff for making our night so special!

One of the most disappointing omakase experiences I’ve ever had.

I honestly don’t understand how this place is charging at this price point. The quality of fish was far below what you’d expect from a proper omakase - mostly cheap cuts, and absolutely nothing memorable. Taste was not good at all, and nothing felt fresh. I’ve had better quality at casual sushi spots for half the price.

The chef preparing the sushi seemed completely uninterested and unprofessional. He barely explained anything and when he did, it sounded like he just wanted to get it over with. In my opinion, which is the entire point of omakase.

What made it even worse was how they advertised “free sake” and didn’t serve it at all.

Fish quality has gone down. Frankly the whole experience not as good. At their price point it is too hard to do what they are trying to do.
