K Kimchi
Kumkangsan was not just a kimchi store but also a historic restaurant established in 1992 in Flushing. The owner successfully managed multiple locations in Manhattan and Flushing, a testament to its popularity and quality. Sadly, the restaurant had to close its doors during the pandemic. Known for its great kimchi and authentic Korean dishes, Kumkangsan was more than a dining spot—it was a cherished part of the community’s cultural and culinary fabric.

Great experience to try different types of kimchi for such a low price. Even if you plan just to have the rice and soup where can you find that anywhere else these days.

It's so nice to be able to eat our delicious traditional side dishes in abundance buffet style.
The service is friendly, but there is no tip, the price is cheap, and the atmosphere is great, so I really recommend it.

If you like kimchi and kimchi dishes, this unique restaurant is THE place.
I've only seen kimchi specialty restaurants like this in Korea. Never in the USA, let alone NYC.
For $10 you get all you can eat rice, house soup, kimchi (9 different varieties), and noodles. As of August 2024, that's a great deal.
For an extra $5 to $15 dollars you can upgrade that meal for an additional cooked dish on the menu.
The menu is small but Restaurants with small menus are usually the best. Because of the focus on quality over quantity. And this restaurant is no different.
I tried their kimchi stew and it was simply the best kimchi stew I've ever had in a restaurant in all my life. I'm not kidding.
Next I plan to try their other kimchi dishes then move on to other menu items.
But in meantime I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
Vegetarian options: You have to ask
Dietary restrictions: They have many varieties of vegan kimchi.

Not real korean food.
Came here with my family and their 갈비 and 순두부 찌개 is legit. I actually really want to know how they seasoned the 갈비. It's a fun experience and you can buy the 김치 they make here too. I tried maybe 5 kinds and liked them all.
