Yummy authentic Shanghainese cuisine. Really enjoyed the scallion oil noodles and the Crab + Shrimp tofu dish. The hot tea was aromatic and quite good as well.

The food turned out to be better than I expected, and many dishes go really well with drinks. Everyone in our group thought their fried rice was excellent, with each grain well separated and plenty of ingredients. The Sichuan dishe I ordered was very spicy, and most of their Sichuan options are seafood based. It would be even better if they offered more meat dishes. A place worth trying if passing by.

Despite the Shanghainese name, Lao Ke Le serves decent but unremarkable Sichuan food. The flavors don’t linger, but on a quiet evening with friends, maybe that’s okay. What stays with you isn’t the spice, but the moment—and a last glimpse of New York you’re trying to hold onto.

Sat down and was completely ignored, no one came to serve us. People who came in after us were served with a menu immediately as they were sat... Funniest part was how we were thanked by the front as if we sat down and ate a whole meal, we were probably there for 10 minutes max. Service is buns. Do better. Go to school and learn how to serve.

Nice restaurant, food was good. I was in hurry - forgot to ask / looks like green tea served in kettle - nice warm light flavor. I am a vegetarian and asked if they could fix something with vegetables and they did in a short time. Will return to try veg momos - saw on their menu thereafter. I saw other folks having dumpling soup and looked great. Keep up the good work. Wish we have something like this in forest Hills.

Honestly a really good place, the food had much flavor and the shanghainese food is traditional and amazing. The price is pretty high though.

Soup dumplings and beef noodle soup were great. Ingredients were fresh and clean. Place is fairly busy on the weekends. Expect long wait times.

It's interesting to see a Shanghai restaurant offering Sichuan dishes. Maybe because the other Sichuan restaurant on the same floor (Da Xi) was closed so some of the chefs came over.
The 醉鸡 Chicken in Yellow Wine was very nice, and was the first dish we finished. 小炒黄牛肉 was okay, 干锅花菜 good,酸菜黑鱼汤 was okay. We also got soup dumplings for $1 (spend $30+ get it for $1 promo). Kids went for chicken fried rice and stir fried rice cake and liked them.

If you can give a score, I think he should be 0. There are no dishes, no drinks, no air conditioning, no service, and other people's dishes are also given to us.It's really terrible here. If it were you, I think you should see this situation and leave immediately.I don't turn on the air conditioner in summer. The service is poor and I won't come back.
We ordered 6 dishes, but one of the dish come at the end when we finished most of the foods.
And that dish is completely wrong.
The vegetables should be soft and serve in soup base.
But it was not even soft or fully cook and covered with sauce instead of soup.
Other 5 dishes are good, but that one really hurt the whole experience.
If you missed our order, then just let us know when we ask. Instead of rushing it out and cooked wrong.
The food here is good, but honestly it isn’t worth the wait. My group waited for over 45+ minutes for a dish just for it to taste mediocre at best. The servers here are nice but 45 minutes for ONE dish is mind boggling. The atmosphere is very loud and lively and I have nothing to say about it, although I do wish the service was faster.
Excellent Shanghai food. Spare ribs with fried garlic, tiny fried tofu balls were addictive. Xiao long bao was one of the $1 dishes when ordering more than $30 overall. Clean restaurant on the 2nd floor
