5 stars for all the kuihs the store sell. Where can u find Malaysian Nyonya Kuihs in NYC?? Very hard lah! Trust me I am Msian and beat kuihs in town is at Little Cafe! The owners are a Chinese Malaysian family sharing Msian delicacy, I tried their Char Kway Teow, Fried Carrot cakes, Assam Laksa, all very good and authentic. The kuihs are to die for, I visit them monthly to stick up on kuihs. I freeze them and eat them throughout the month. Some have to eat fresh bc some don’t freeze well. I love supporting small business! Location is slightly out of the way though.

Little House Cafe is located on a somewhat decrepit, gritty street, and the entrance is similarly, not particularly eye-catching. It's a no frills-type of place, and the grouchy, somewhat money-pinching, service style doesn't do the place any favours. We still become somewhat irate thinking about the rudeness of the cafe's staff, but if you can overlook the latter, focus on the glass counter stacked with kuih and other Malaysian desserts for $6 a box. Of all the desserts we tried from Little House Cafe, we would certainly return for the "Pandan Chiffon Cake." It was a perfect study of light, pillowy chiffon, with just the right balance of pandan flavour. We featured it in our round-up review of the best pandan desserts in NYC. By contrast, Little House Cafe's kuih was sadly, hit-and-miss. By comparison, the kuih from Kuih Cafe and certainly, Lady Wong, were more consistently-made, softer and bouncier. At Little House Cafe, the "Kuih Lapis," "Kuih Pulut Tekan," and "Kuih Sago" were all rainbow-hued vibrance, but lacked any real depth of flavour. Texture wise, these kuih were also somewhat "hard." More memorable was the beautifully-pressed tortoise cake, "Ang Ku Kuih," dyed green instead of the usual red. The kuih shell erred towards being a little thick, though we loved its toasted coconut filling. As much as we wanted to love Little House Cafe, we struggle to overcome the rude service staff we encountered and the somewhat flavourless kuih we sampled. While we would consider a return visit for the pandan chiffon cake, our hunt for the best kuih in NYC continues!

We haven't been out of the house for a while due to covid...what a treat! We had the Malaysian standards and a few treats from the Bakery. The Nasi Lemak was great, the Curry Puffs as well. The Bubble Tea was unexpected and the kids loved it. Tea for the adults was great and warmed us while we watched the snow squall. Out of the way but worth the trip. Got street parking this first pass :-)

Delicious and reasonable-priced authentic Malaysian cuisine with a lot of cookie and dessert choices. A must for those who crave for some yummy Nyonya and Malaysian delicacies.

The cashier lady is so rude. Never mentioned about the credit card surcharge. Once I saw the receipt, I asked her to voided transaction and will pay cash. She says she don't know how to do it. Need to wait for her son, then I waited. After I ask her for a voided receipt then she say what's so rush. Then she is making all other correction on the receipt. She say I'm making her so busy. NO SURCHARGE posted in the Restaurant.

Authentic home style Malaysian-Chinese eats. It’s a bakery but they also serve heartier meals as well. Their curry has a nuanced and well-spiced flavor that’s different from more traditional Malaysian restaurants. Their snacks are great (get the fried seaweed rolls and sweet glutinous products!).

The best tasting and most authentic Malaysian food in the area. The selection of their sweets cannot be found anywhere else. Everything is delicious and flavorful. I don't ever have pictures because I start to eat everything in the car. Their savory dishes are spot-on! I don't live local so I buy enough food for two days. My favorite is their curry noodle. I have a sweet tooth so all their sweets are my favorite as well.

Finally! A Malaysian spot that actually tastes MALAYSIAN! Too many in NY are just really Chinese food with pre-packaged instant curry powder tossed on top. I love all their dishes tastes really homemade (EXCEPT ONE) . Their Nasi Lemak is the BEST in NYC. and their desserts are truly Malay! Skip the Pad Thai...its TOO SWEET. Get pad thai at a thai restaurant instead. But come here for great Malaysian food!

They are only open for takeout right now, no indoor dining. I had it bookmarked for awhile and finally made it there. Got the chow Keuh Teow and fried radish cakes and curry me with young Tao fu. The fried noodle dish was a delight and you can taste the "wok breath" and can tell they don't shy away from the spices. The fried radish cake was very soft and tasty. Curry Mee was spicy and I also got the pandan sponge cake and nine layer cake. Highly recommended and will look forward to trying more next time.

I went for lunch and my dish costed shy of $10. I was disappointed that they still had no indoor seating. But, I walked in with confidence. I have never had this dish before or sambal. Personally, I hate spiciness and this was definitely spicy. This is not served on banana leaves, the rice was ok. But, I loved the peanuts and fried anchovies. The chicken curry was ok but, I could live without it. I will go again but for something else.

"Pandan Nasi Lemak" brought me here, and the South East Asian side of me craved this dish. This isn't a typical rice dish, it's packed with dried anchovy, shrimps, meats, cucumber, egg-all in a semi spicy shrimp sauce. The Pandan rice has a hint of coconut and salt that gives it that extra awesomeness. The Chow Keuh Teow- noodle was a bit lackluster and oily, it just doesn't compare to the Pandan rice dish. I also got their Kuih Tayap (Pandan crepe) with sweet coconut filling~tasted good. I asked the counter lady about the popular Curry Chicken Bun, she said the store no longer makes it, as they're busy with the second branch opening up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn! Now I can have my Pandan rice dish without traveling too far.

It's a little cafe w tons of malaysian snacks and dessert. I got the Hainan chicken, was not impressed with it, it's lacking the ginger flavor. At the present time of review, there's no indoor dining and no bathroom use.
