really wanted to like this place, but it fell flat in terms of food and service.
The decor is quite nice inside, and they serve free tea when you are seated. I ordered the pork ribs over rice with veggies. The portion is pretty decent, but the flavor is just lacking and the food was quite oily. Our waiter was unfortunately not attentive either so not sure if I’d return, there’s better food in the area!

Mahjong Cafe & Bar is a Hong Kong styled Cha Chaan Teng located right outside Tangram mall. We were looking for something quick to eat, and this popped up.
Staff is friendly, mainly speak in Mandarin/Cantonese but can speak English as well. Food came out quite quick, and was fast.
The food offerings are similar to other Cha Chaan Tengs, with a wide range of breakfast goods ranging from noodles, salt and pepper porkchop, eggs, spam sandwiches, french toast, & more. Portions may be on the smaller side, but the prices are mainly less than $10 so it was well worth it for a quick bite. Food was enough to satisfy, but wasn't outstanding.

Today I was excited to try the breakfast I been waiting for since I came here very early. But when I got there, there was just a bunch of people waiting the lady told me we can't order until 11am I arrived at 10:45 hoping to catch the breakfast in time. Then when it was 11 and I told her the order, she then told me they don't have the breakfast I want. So I just waited 5 minutes for nothing, next time please cross out the breakfast you don't have so I can rush to another one that have it please.

Mahjong Cafe & Bar is a Hong Kong style restaurant. It attempts to encapsulate the classic HK taste and atmosphere. From the decor to the food, they’ve certainly nailed it!
As for the food and drink, their HK style milk tea is very good and authentic. It’s accurately prepped and brewed (using the proper, traditional filter and strainer). Their Chicken Steak with Black Pepper Sauce over Spaghetti is also very good. The thick sauce has just the right amount of spiciness, and the chicken steaks are very tender.
Overall, it stays true to the HK spirit especially when you order the classic dishes and drinks!

average to decent Chinese restaurant in a highly concentrated area of Chinese restaurant. decent place for a first experience, not somewhere to go regularly. go there if your friend recommends, just humor them
make sure to use the soy sauce, salt, pepper, and sauce provided. really makes the boring dishes taste good

Cash only - make sure you have enough before go in
Budgeted breakfast options similar to Hong Kong style options.
The real kicker is their milk tea which is very similar to Hong Kong if you know, you know.

This is the worst restaurant I went. I waited for 30 minutes for my food and then I asked the waiter to check for me. He gave me a very bad attitude. Don’t waste your time there.

LOVE THE PLACE !!! Haven't had such delicious cha chan tang food for a while. The stir fry beef fun cooks perfectly, The mini pineapple buns with butter is a must try !!! Servers are nice and professional, hard working young people. Close by parking garages. Definitely be back.

I enjoyed dining here while visiting New York which was a 1 minute walk from my hotel , they actually serve you tea which is refreshing, I ordered fried fish with vegetable fried rice, which is not apart of the menu and I was delighted that the staff accommodated my request. I definitely would recommend this Restaurant as the food is very delicious and the service is excellent.

I ordered a breakfast today: an omelette, half a piece of toast, ham pasta, and milk tea. The worst is milk tea. It doesn't taste like milk tea, but it's not like coffee. It's so bad that even the milk tea from a bakery is so good that you can drink it many times. If it doesn't improve, it will definitely close down.
Today I order a breakfast but the milk tea is very worst not up to standard even than a selling bread shop milk tea. If they do not improve the standard if product, I dare say the restaurant will close shortly.
