I just cannot get over how good the katsu is. The chicken katsu curry has to be my favorite in the city by far and has been since they opened. It's hard for me to find time to go here, but it's such a genuinely rewarding meal, and i'm happy to sacrifice the place being open daily for the love and time that seems to go into everything there, from the in-house food to the curation of snacks and drinks. The portion is absolutely enormous, bigger than any ive had anywhere here or abroad, and the quality is astonishing. It's just so good.Cool shirts too :)

Okay so the prices are little high, the hours a little annoying but the food is great, incredible even. Love the variety of the grab and go sections. Would be an every day thing if it wasn't for the prices (which really aren't THAT crazy but just slightly higher than i'd want) but i'll settle for a little treat for myself every now and then

The katsu curry is heavenly - my only complaint is that i wish they were open more often!

So great here! Good stock and great food. The only downside is the awful hours. Every time I want to go its closed :(

I got the Spicy Chicken Katsu Sandwich for $15, enough to feed 2, it’s a delicious Chicken Katsu Cutlet sandwich, with an EXTRA spicy dry rub, pickles, pickled onions and spicy mayo. A delicious crispy juicy HOT experience of a cheat meal. In my opinion best Chicken Sandwich in NYC. I couldn't leave the joint without my fix of Japanese condiments and ice cream.

Saw this spot on a YouTube short. It looked decent so I decided to give it a try. Ordered the spam grilled cheese & breakfast burrito. They were both just ok. I purchased their house hot sauce (which wasn't actually hot) to go along with the burrito which made it taste better. It's a very tiny spot so expect to either sit outside when the weather is nice or take your food to go. Customer service was excellent. Will be back to try other items on the menu.

There is a chicken sandwich renaissance and kind of war among many chicken sandwich places around NYC . It's OVER!!!! You get the M line, get off Seneca and walk 3 minutes , OR you drive OR if you are lucky you live around and you just have to try this BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH IN NYC !!!!!!! If I could give 6th star I would . The size ! The cut ! The juiciness ! The sauce ! The spiciness (wow it's hot got to ask for a few more napkins ....) PERFECTION!!!!! They have it in a veggie style with a cauliflower and I might try that next time . Cute , small Japanese stuff grocery / mini restaurant but it's so worth the drive , train , walk . Stop looking , just go to the BEST. Make sure to check the opening days & hours . Highly recommended!!!!! Definitely a Destination!!!!

Such a cute little shop! My friend and I came in for Saturday brunch and got the chicken katsu sandwich and the spam breakfast burrito to share amongst the two of us. The chicken sandwich was HUGE! We cut both up to share and were stuffed. We didn't even touch the chips that came with the chicken sandwich. The mini mart has such cute little treats and the rice bowls look great. I can't wait to come back when it's next open to grab some kimchi and other goodies. The only negative is how small the shop is and how limited the hours are. With the line wrapping around the corner around 1230 on a rainy Saturday, you would think they would be more than W-Sat. There also isn't much seating in the mini mart or on the outside. Luckily I live close by so it was easy to run home. All that to say, I can't wait to come back and stock up on some goodies.

I found Mama Yoshi through the Infatuation which recently featured their enormous chicken sandwich on Instagram. Since my partner and I are huge fans of chicken sandwiches, and we were going to a show in the area, we decided to stop by for a pre-show treat! We walked into the rather unassuming market and were greeted by the MOST friendly staff member. We placed an order for both the spicy chicken sandwich and the spam grilled cheese. They even let us customize the grilled cheese to only contain cheddar (my partner isn't the biggest fan of American cheese)! The market itself is fairly small, with a few seats inside and outside, but since we came at an off time, seating wasn't really an issue to find. After about 10 minutes or so, our sandwiches were brought out. Let me tell you, the spicy chicken sandwich was HUGE and probably could have fed 3 or 4 people on its own.. we didn't anticipate finishing either sandwich, but they were both so good that we did! One thing to keep in mind is that they currently have fairly short hours, so you have to go during the day or very early evening. Regardless, Mama Yoshis is 100% worth it and we will DEFINITELY be coming back.
