I have been snoozing a reminder on my phone for over a year to write a review for this restaurant. I went there with a date and it was the first time she had ever had Indian. She loved everything! I was glad to have found a great first experience for her. The couple that owns the restaurant were super friendly and inviting.

Maspeth has good Indian again!! New chef as of 5 months ago.My husband and I loved this place when it was an Indian Nepalese place, but something happened(maybe change of ownership),and it went downhill. We vowed never to eat there again. However, something told my husband to check again after 3 years! Another review mentioned a new chef. We just came back and promised him to write a positive review because he, well deserves it!We order Chana Masala and chicken Tikka with garlic Nann. It's was so delicious with good portions! The pricing was really good, too, in this economy. My husband loves spicy, so his plate brought on the spice. I am more of a mild girl, and my plate had good flavor but didn't kill my tongue. Our 7 month old baby gobbled up the garlic nann! We are for sure adding Masala Kitchen back to our rotation of eatery. Please try them again bc we heard that this location might be sold off. Which would be a shame because Maspeth could use a good Indian spot.

Why are you promoting your restaurant in Groupon if you don’t take them? You should honor them until Groupon takes the promotion down. Very big turn away. Would not even consider trying their food
I went with my wife this past Saturday Night and the place was empty. We had bought a $100 voucher from Groupon and when we arrived we showed the voucher to the server and the server said "The owner said we are not accepting any coupons or vouchers" we showed him on the phone and he just he was sorry and gave the same response. We asked to speak to the owner or manager the chef came out and said the same thing although they still have Groupons for sale at this very time on the website. I called today and I spoke with the same person I spoke with on Saturday Night ( the owner was not there ) and he said he will honor the voucher but "ONLY FOR YOU" but I asked "What about everybody else who buys it? This makes no sense." We reached out to Groupon to ask for our money back and we will not be going to this restaurant for the foreseeable future.

Best food. Vindaloo , butter chicken and biryani. Top class. Enquired that chef is a New York Times chef. Absolute class. They have good deals too online. Must must try.And also ordered the food again where delivery was on time and good service. Must try overall. Authentic Portuguese Indian combo.
