I am extremely disappointed with the service my boyfriend and I received at this restaurant. As regular customers, we expected a basic level of attentiveness, yet we were completely ignored. Our needs were disregarded, and the staff failed to perform their fundamental duties. To make matters worse, I never received the dessert I ordered, and not a single waiter took the initiative to correct this. Instead, we observed multiple staff members idly chatting while prioritizing a larger group. This level of negligence is unacceptable. Management should seriously reconsider its hiring and training practices. If this is the kind of staff you choose to employ, it’s no wonder the service is abysmal. I can’t believe how quickly my opinion of this place changed, all because of incompetent employees who clearly don’t care. I will never be coming back, and I will make sure others know to avoid this place as well.

Everything is ok except for the space as it was too cramped and takes some time to be seated.

Craving for a Filipino dish then, this is the place to be. Accessible via 7 train at 69th and Fisk in Woodside. A 7 minute walk from Roosevelt station. If you arrive from LGA airport, you can take the Q70-SBS - a FREE bus ride to Roosevelt station. If you arrive at the restaurant, you will see the pictures of most of their food. You can view the photos via the Max's app or website.
Parking: Side street parking is limited.

Strengths: filipino hospitality and very friendly staff. The pancit we ordered was also very good.
Cons: For a chicken place, I was disappointed by the chicken. The pieces are large but almost concerningly so because I don't know where they are getting chickens that are so gargantuan and how they must be fed. The batter was so-so, but the meat was tender. If you don't eat the skin there is no flavor or seasoning.

The food was pretty good. Loved the Java fried rice and the halo halo. The serving sizes were good and the food good flavor.
The downside is their vegetable menu section isn’t strictly vegetarian and a bit misleading - if you have dietary restrictions it is best to tell your waiter.
Vegetarian options: Best to be aware that there is a section that is labeled vegetables and fish, but there can be fish and/or meat in them. It’s best to communicate to your waiter if you need it to be strictly vegetarian.

As a Filipina who grew up in Woodside and have eaten at all the Filipino restaurants here - both past and present - SKIP this place!!
1. The food lacks so much flavor lols. We got the pancit canton and they might as well have served just the noodles. No seasoning at all ? My dad recommended we just mix the pork sisig into the pancit to add some flavor to it. I was hungry enough to finish my rice, but that was purely out of hunger post 5-hour drive, not bc the food is actually good lol
2. The service could be a lottttt better. I saw a duo get seated and minutes went by without a waiter seeing them. One of the women literally had to go up to the counter and wait for someone to so she can order. She was told to sit down and the waiter will go to them, but I get 100% why they looked frustrated. Other excluding our two tables, there were only three other tables filled. Despite that, I rarely actually saw our waiter.
3. I recently went to the Philippines and ate at a Max’s Restaurant establishment there, so I’m confident in saying that the flavors here don’t meet that standard. If this is a non-Filipino’s introduction to Filipino food, just please know our food DOES taste good. ?
