There's only one other place to get food that's directly on the boardwalk, so this place is really popular. It could easily be mediocre and people would still come for its convenience, but the burgers are genuinely delicious. I didn't have the fries but the others in my group really enjoyed them and the portions were big. The place plays good music. Expect a line to order. Definitely have a burger!
Took the boat from Manhattan to rockaway. Concrete jungle but this was the nearest thing to an authentic surf bar we could find. Cool vibe with DJs playing through a big sound system. Great music. Cheap and unfussy food and beer. Be careful of those damned flies though.

This was the first time I had been to Rippers in eight years and it is still as good as it was in 2015. The burgers are so flavorful and juicy and came with a special sauce with cheese, lettuce and tomato. It tasted so good. The Fries were topped with salt, pepper and spices. They really have a great flavor and really don't need ketchup. The one thing is that they give you a very generous portion and are perfect for sharing.
