Very nice people, but the food is not good. Rice was so oily and the white sauce tasted like straight mayo. Theres better halal carts around like Sammys.

This review is not about the food, am sure their food is great but rather the behavior of the gentleman that works at the cart . On around the 24th we dropped them off a propane tank by mistake, and few days later went to seek a solution for it . The gentleman was reasonable , and said he would take care of it. Later the same day, i spoke to him at night, he said he would speak to the guy who supplies the propane. I was like okay. It's the 3rd of November now, more than 7 days have passed and he has not cleared anything. I spoke to the guy he referred to , who claimed he hasn't heard anything from him . So I walk to the cart today to speak to him and he was hostile, said I was acting like a woman, for asking to continue this conversation. I was very polite and simply walked away, but before I did, I requested a date by which he would fix this issue, he refused to speak and got angrier. I left then. The cost of the propane and the gas it contains itself, is not a big deal but the behavior of the person running the cart is. Since many people do business here, I felt responsible to post this incident here to caution those seeking to transact here.

Been coming here since the last 14 years. I drive all the way from Connecticut 2-3 times a week just to eat here. Always the best and perfect taste.

I absolutely love this place. The people are friendly and I've gotten to know them to the point where I just show up and they know my order. Although it's a cart, it feels like a neighborhood restaurant where you walk by and say hi and are greeted by smiles. This Is thr best chicken over rice and gyros in the area. The prices are amazing and the food is simply delicious. If you are in the neighborhood defenitly stop by!

Fast food, good amount. The red spicy sauce need more work, tastes like chilli powder mixed with water and all, but the white sauce and bbq sauce was decent. It’s a great spot to get something fast and cheap for the amount.

Salam Food Cart has been a staple in my foodie journey for many years now.Although I am from the Miami, FL area, it is a tradition for my family to visit NYC almost every year. Being of Bengali descent, Jackson Heights is a go-to neighborhood for us without question, especially for dining and shopping.Salam Cart is located in the beating heart of the bustling crossroads of 73rd and 74th streets , right off of 37th Ave, where multiple desi worlds and businesses collide. Although an iconic street food symbol of NYC are the halal carts, I have to say that Salam's approach to the popular rice, gyro, chicken, white sauce and spicy sauce bowl is difference because they integrate desi flavors and a few extra spices in their's that give it an irresistible twist. Also their service and portions are very generous.Every year when I make my way to New York City, this spot is a must for me. I can't wait till this year to have my fix of Salam's!

Been eating from this cart over 7 years, they use to make the best chicken over rice couple years ago. Now the quantity of the meat is always low with extra onions. Meat is dry and no Flavor at all. Just disappointed
Next time I think I’ll try a hot dog but I didn’t like the meat. Just felt low quality I ended up throwing the food out sadly. However the guy was nice. The thing that holds the drinks was super super super dirty so I didn’t get a drink.
