Awang Kitchen was delicious! It is highly recommended and we will return. Once the doors opened, an enticing odor of peanut sauce welcomed us in. We came to the table with different diets but were all accommodated. Two of us were meat eaters, one pescatarian and another a pescatarian who doesn't eat gluten, dairy, corn or soy. We feasted! We ordered fried tapioca cakes (great texture), lamb satay, cold salad with dried fish, squid, tofu and peanut sauce, whole grilled fish with chili sauce, and steaming hot water spinach with quail eggs —the meal was accompanied by fluffy rice. For dessert we had three shakes: durian with sweetened condensed milk and ice (my favorite!), coconut milk with green rice noodles, and red coconut with black and white tape (fermented black rice and cassava), bread and avocado. The flavors were strong and rich and complemented each other nicely. Our waiter gave us recommendations that all suited our tastes. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, I just wish we had had more room in our stomachs. Yum!!

They have a variety of very good Indonesia food and the seats need bigger space. The seats need more cozy and softer so, we can stay longer there. You need to serve Indonesian lite bite like pastel, lemper, lumpia and every other good stuff

A hundred times I've been stopped by that red light on Queens Blvd and Van Loon St, and half those times I've glanced over at Awang Kitchen and wondered what their Indonesian food would taste like. Last weekend, after shopping at the nearby mall, we had our chance to find out. Every bite was delicious, but the Chicken Satay with peanut sauce gets an extra special mention, as do the chicken noodles. But don't let the names of the dishes scare you -- the staff is very helpful with their descriptions.

Wonderful meal. The owner, Awang, was very friendly, attentive and helpful since we are fairly new to Indonesian food. The curry goat and beef tendon were amazingly tender. The salty fish fried rice was very good. Dessert was the grilled banana - interesting assortment of flavors including cheese, chocolate syrup and chocolate sprinkles. Will return.
