Drinks are affordable and the music is good! Great Astoria place. Assume the name is a reference to the Nick Cave album; asked the bartender and they hadn't heard of Nick Cave. That was a weird moment.
I’ve been three times and likely will keep going as this bar is close to me and a great atmosphere generally with good music. As with an earlier comment I’m not a fan of one bartender. I think he is rude and pretentious and there’s just no place for that when neighborhood people are just coming to enjoy a drink with friends. I’m not asking for a bartender friend just a person who is pleasant and efficient. Doesn’t seem like much to ask.
Have always loved this place and it’s super convenient for me but tonight I bought a beer ($9) and was then charged $5 for a soda water. I guess this is normal now but I have never been charged for a soda after having bought a separate drink before.
