Yin Ji Chang Fen is an authentic Cantonese restaurant offering a wide range of porridges and handcrafted rice rolls. The prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including Hong Kong-style milk tea, soy sauce fried noodles, and sliced fish congee. The congee is thick and flavorful, and the rice rolls are made fresh to order, with delicate rice sheets and juicy, well-seasoned fillings. The menu features unique options such as secret peanut sauce rice roll, dough stick rice roll, and curry combo, which includes fish balls, pig skin, and squid. The curry sauce is warm and not too spicy, enhancing the ingredients. The soy sauce fried noodles have a nice wok hei aroma, slight crispness, and good chew, perfect for a quick, satisfying meal. The fish congee is smooth, mild, and incredibly comforting, with fresh fish and a silky texture. The rice rolls, especially the peanut sauce one, bring nostalgic flavors of childhood, with sweet, nutty, and savory notes. The restaurant opens bright and early at 8:00 AM, making it a quiet lifesaver for early mornings in Flushing. The staff is adequate and functional, and everything is served quickly, often on paper plates for easy takeout. Yin Ji Chang Fen is a simple, honest place that preserves a traditional routine and rhythm, offering comforting, flavorful Cantonese dishes.
This cash only spot is pretty straightforward. Although they also have some different items on the menu, their specialty is Rice rolls and congee both of which you can get with various different toppings. The food comes out quick and it's absolutely delicious. It might not call your attention from the outside so much. But the line that goes out the door tells you that the spot is definitely worth checking out. The woman who waited on my table was friendly and efficient in her work. This place is very affordable as well. A set of rice noodles will cost you about eight dollars and the congee is similarly priced depending on toppings. They're specialty is Rice rolls and congee. The preserved egg and pork congee was really flavorful, and they were generous with the toppings. The pork & shrimp rice roll was decent, though the rice roll itself was too thin. Cash or Venmo Only! The menu is set up with so many different offerings. The braised pork feet rice rolls have five spice flavors. The peanut sauce rice rolls have fun, fiesty flavors. The pork and preserved egg jook is perfect texture, perfect taste. The fish jook. The BBQ pork rice rolls had tender pork. The shrimp rice rolls had big succulent shrimps inside. The braised hard-boiled eggs is a family favorite.
