We had a fabulous meal - food was delicious and many, many unusual things on the menu we’d never tried before. Lots of interesting and delicious flavors. The staff were warm and very helpful. Will be going back for sure.

The place has some audacity. I ordered $45 worth of food after tax and stayed for less than an hr. The server came to the table a total of 4 times to drop off food, no words exchanged which was fine. Time came to pay the bill at the counter and I gave a $50 bill and this lady tells me “it’s not enough”. I beg your finest pardon? I didnt realize there was auto gratuity on a table of 2 and I sure didn’t know that tips were now mandatory for the 20 steps you walked to deliver my luke warm skewers. I read all the reviews about a no frills experience and they decided to pull this stunt, so expect some attitude if you plan to give anything less than 15% after tax.

Best place to get late night skewers in the cold!
Food was delicious from the wagyu skewers to the chicken fried rice and oyster & dragonfish.

I am very surprised by the low score for this restaurant. We went with our Chinese friends for dinner. Loved the ease of ordering through your phone after scanning a QR code. The food was fresh, delicious and good sized portions. The service was prompt and the staff courteous. The place is relatively small and does tend to get crowded but that would be a good sign. After all, it is said “ Dine where the locals dine”.

Not sure what’s the deal with all the negative reviews. It was definitely more of a neighborhood spot, very laid back and no-frill. Food was good and authentic to northern China, pricing was affordable. Service was quick. I would love to come back

Really yummy Chinese Sichuan food and so fun to have amazing food at such good price point and fresh! Fish was so good, eggplant, tofu, and lamb and chicken skewers!
We were a group of 13 who walked in at 930pm on a Friday and were readily seated and served! Food served very quickly, very efficient to order through phone. The unique drinks were so good too, yay Scream and Peach something. Great local find ~~ really good for vegetarians too!

Restaurantji Recommends
The lamb soup is great, very flavorful and savory, great way to start the meal. As for the oyster, although it is $8 per, the oyster 🦪 is huge! Very garlicky, love it!!! The cabbage is quite refreshing, would recommend as well. As for the vermicelli and the mushroom, it is a tad bit on the salty side. Vermicelli is very garlicky as well, if only they lessen the salt, I would rate it 5 stars. All the skewers are great! Would definitely come back for the skewers. And the fish, it is definitely spicy and numbing, be careful of the Szechuan peppercorns. But even though it’s spicy, still great flavor and the fish is very tender.

I'm surprised by the amount of bad comments and non-positive reviews 🥺 I wanted to eat skewers so much this days and I really liked it! The taste is really similar to the cart skewer I've eaten at Grand Street (It's one of the best I've ever eaten) The atmosphere is a bit tight but I loved the modality of ordering through a QR code without having to contact the waiter again and again (only when you need to order a drink). The prices are affordable compared to the portions of the food, it's really worth it!! 👍 I hope to come back another day :)

Disappointed experience I won’t be returning.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The service was beyond poor—our server was inattentive and despite asking multiple times, they never even brought a simple cup of water. The food was just as bad. The flavors were bland, like they didn’t bother seasoning anything. The meat tasted old and was so tough it got stuck in my teeth. As for the fish, it was severely overcooked, dry, and practically inedible. Additionally, the server gave us the wrong bill, and when we pointed out the mistake, they acted confused and took forever to “fix” it. Even worse, they won’t let us leave because of their own miscalculation. Overall, complete waste of time and money. Avoid this place unless you want to deal with rude service and billing issues. Never coming back!

Argued with the owner for 15 minutes regarding a refund for a dish that said “Fatty beef spicy hotpot” after receiving the dish without fatty beef.
The owner had no conflict resolution skills and just kept repeating that I ordered the wrong dish.
I had to send her 3 different pictures as proof and even then, with no apologies, stated that words don’t matter. I should only look at pictures next time. 🤣
You really can’t instill reason against owners that are unreasonable. Do not give this establishment your business.
