Little Goat Reviews
I want to preface this review by saying how kind and accommodating the waitstaff and manager were. They were so sweet and helpful. Food and atmosphere are great. The achilles heel is the wait staff. They lack passion, enthusiasm or even knowledge. It’s a very transactional experience. That’s not a dealbreaker but hoping they can train or tweek the staff to add some warmth and wisdom.

Little Goat, located in the charming village of Rhinebeck, is a restaurant that offers a welcoming and warm atmosphere with great service. Despite being under-starred, it impresses guests with delicious food and friendly staff. The menu features a variety of fresh and tasty dishes, including standout starters like fingerlings—slaty, crispy, and yummy—and gnocchi with blue cheese and bacon bits that wowed diners. The dinner entrees, such as meats and pastas, are described as scrumptious, satisfying even a party of six. For dessert lovers, all the sweet treats are so good that none survive the meal.
The restaurant’s chicken is highly praised for its perfect seasoning and beautiful cooking, making it one of the best meals in a while. Breakfast options like the egg sandwich with merguez sausage and curried squash soup are also favorites, with the former called the best breakfast sandwich ever. The coffee and tahini chocolate chip cookie are delightful, and the caesar salad is recognized as one of the best.
Overall, Little Goat is a great spot to enjoy good food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere. It’s highly recommended for anyone visiting Rhinebeck, as it consistently delivers tasty meals and friendly service, making every visit a memorable experience.
