This place is good time to hang out with your friends and catch up! The ambiance is nice and dark, kind of like a darker lounge but also a very casual place. It is self seat so just find any seats open and sit down! My other two friends and I came on a Sunday night and there weren't as many workers so service was a bit slow/not super friendly and welcoming. We each ordered the Seneca single patty ($11 each) which is similar to a smashburger, ordered a tray of fries ($9), sesame salad ($13?). My friend also ordered a beer - total came out to be $78 with tip. My favorite was the salad which complimented the burger really well because there were no veggies in the burger except for one pickle. The fries were shoe string fries but my personal preference is the thicker type. I would probably come back here again fro the salad and maybe grab a beer next time as well! FYI, there are pool night tournaments that start at 8pm with a cash prize of $50 (I believe that is what I read). They also have board games so it's fun to just hang out there.

This is my absolute favorite spot!!! The bartenders are so attentive and accommodating. I always feel welcomed, whether I'm alone or with friends. Food and drinks always come out quickly. Nothing beats The Seneca!

Love this place. Classic neighborhood bar with great deals. Monday for the burger and Wednesday for the martinis with great service. Can't beat it.

I never really write reviews and I wanted to write one because I feel like this place is an underrated hidden burger spot. I've been to so many burger joints in New York and although there are other great spots, the burger here is the perfect size and the ratio to all the ingredients and is really good. Maybe I prefer a smash burger but I've been to Gotham Burger, 7th Street Burger, and Mighties.. but both are not nearly as good as this spot. The lemon pepper wings were also good with smokiness - I think they smoke them in house? The interior feels cozy like a bar I'd find upstate somewhere.

The food had small portions and it was just ok. Nothing to make me want to go back. However, the service was great but food ehhhh.

Y'all-- I've been a regular at The Seneca since it opened. They have never had enough staff to handle serving more than one person at a time. Staff is less than enthusiastic to be working-- they're never multi-tasking, they'll go pick up a hot sauce bottle from one end of the space to the other and do absolutely nothing else inbetween that walk, then they'll go play on their phone. If you feel like you're not getting paid well by your manager, and expect people to fill the gaps with tips, and then work like entitled teenagers, ya of course ur not getting paid well.the food has been getting COLDER. Literally, a burger will come out cold-- y'all even throw it on the grill or what?their roof is collapsing, they allow animals inside, and they are over-priced. Go elsewhere.

Terrible experience here, which is disappointing considering I’ve heard great things. The servers spoke maybe 10 words to me my entire time here, throwing a menu down on the table only to walk away, take other customers who came in after me and their orders and eventually come back. I think I could’ve walked right out and no one would’ve noticed. The experience was like being in a McDonald’s with a bar. Asked for ketchup and all the bartender told me was “we’re almost out of ketchup” before passive aggressively bringing some to my table from another. Saw many other diners looking confused and unattended to as well. Oh well, plenty of other great places in Ridgewood ?

Great service and warm sports bar atmosphere. Menu selection is limited to hamburgers and fried wings. Not much healthy selection. Would like to see expanded selection, maybe some exotic flair. Even Applebee’s is has Korean bbq flavor chicken and Indian curry flavors. Not a place to try something new and exciting. Come for the beer and sports show and skip the food.

We went here last night. the girl who served us not yhe bartender ( she was very sweet) however a girl in a red top who was doing shots with men who took our wings to us. threw our food down at us like we were dogs and continued walking to go chat or flirt with the men she was pouring drinks for. she didn't give us any sause, no napkins and no plates. Just banged the fried wings on the table. she had a middle part with with what looked like a Bob cut a bit above the shoulder. she shouldn't be around ppl if that's how she wants to treat people. The bartender came over and gave us amenities to eat with. smh

Did not honor happy hour drink prices and charged me for food I did not order. I had paid with a card and asked for it to be refunded onto my card. I was only offered cash for the food items. They said they cannot refund onto my card. Didn't find it worth bringing up the happy hour prices.Shame because I want to like this place so badly but between the charges and the unwelcoming service I am not sure I will be back.
