“The reason I like this place is the buffet always contains plenty of fresh fruit and cooked vegetables. One of their specialties is baked spinach with cheese. I could do without the cheese, but I can easily avoid it. The honeydew melon and pineapple were at their peak of sweetness. The baked fish is an excelent source of protein and is always available as today, when the hot and sour soup had no discernible tofu. The latter tends to be very good but this one time it was so spicy I could hardly eat it, otherwise it would have been delicious. Perhaps the chef was in an adventurous mood.Vegetarian options: Fresh salad, cooked vegetable dishes, fresh fruit. Occasionally the hot and sour soup will contain Tofu.Dietary restrictions: The menu is almost entirely gluten free. If rice is out of the question there are usually plenty of options for grain free starches.“
“We went for Easter and didn't realize that they were charging more for the buffet. But the food was pretty good! Our waitress was helpful but not very friendly! Very busy!Vegetarian options: Lots of fruits and vegetablesKid-friendliness: Lots of menu items for kids! Cotton candy for dessert!“
“D'Mangu stands out as one of the few places in Rochester where you can truly savor the authentic flavors of Dominican cuisine. The food here is not just excellent; it's a genuine culinary journey that brings the rich tastes of the Dominican Republic to your plate. For an authentic Dominican experience, I highly recommend trying the Mofongo Dominicano. It's a true delight for the taste buds, offering a perfect blend of flavors and textures that capture the essence of Dominican culinary traditions. While the location may be in a challenging neighborhood, the authenticity and quality of the food make D'Mangu well worth a visit. Despite the decision to close their Henrietta branch, the commitment to providing a genuine Dominican dining experience remains evident.“
