This was my go to Chinese restaurant before I got diagnosed with celiac disease so I was extremely happy to find out that many of their dishes can be made gluten free! We went recently for a huge family dinner and the staff was very accommodating to all my GF questions despite being a hectic large group :) I wanted to keep it simple for the first time so I got the GF sesame chicken, white rice, and GF vegetable mei fun, and some team. All very delicious! They brought me GF soy sauce upon request. I was told the fried rice is not GF so be careful there. I look forward to coming back.

I also added recent menu pics. Anything with the green symbol of wheat crossed off can be made GF!

Won Ton Soup very good. Lemon Chicken was very disappointing. Was a large, thick chicken breast sliced. Chicken was way to thick and dry. Was not crispy enough. This was a signature dish under previous owners. The fried rice was actually dry brown rice. Staff not very friendly. Will not be returning.

We got takeout from Chen Garden today and the food was so good! We ordered beef lo mein and moo shu chicken and enjoyed it a lot. There were people dining in as well—yes, they’re open!

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Rochester, NY. They tick all the boxes: delicious food, cozy atmosphere and really nice owners. My favorite is their Mei Fun and their spicy chicken wings. This pic is Singapore Beef Mei Fun.

Really sad to say this, but: the food was good until I found a hair cooked into our takeout general tso chicken last night.

Been a big fan of Chen Garden for a while now and understand that things happen, but I work in a kitchen myself and take the necessary precautions so my own hair doesn’t end up in customers’ food. Bummed to see the same precautions aren’t being taken here.

I wasn’t a fan of this restaurant at all. Service wasn’t good, food came out cold. Also, the food was very bland. I would not recommend anyone eat here. I came in hungry and left hungry.

Every nice Chinese restaurant, with a bar in front, and the dining room in back. They have a pretty extensive menu, with pictures of most of their entrees which is a nice touch. Our lunches were very good on both of our visits. Service was fast, and our waiter was very attentive.

This is my new favorite date spot! The booths and twinkle lights make the space feel so cozy, and the food is great! I try something new every time I come in, and everything I have had so far is delicious.

We came here on Christmas Day hoping for a nice dining experience, but unfortunately it fell short. Our waitress was very rushed and seemed annoyed whenever we needed help. She would drop the food off quickly and walk away without checking on us, and the service felt dismissive rather than welcoming.

The food itself was barely warm and lacked flavor, which was disappointing. No one ever asked how everything was.

That said, the other staff members we interacted with were very kind and helpful, which we appreciated. We really wanted this to be a positive holiday experience, but it just didn’t meet expectations. Granted it was very busy and they did seat us quickly but everything after was really bad.

Called in our order at noon for 6pm Christmas Eve. Waited 45 min and did not get our food.

Went to Chen Garden for the first time. Food was average. The restaurant, however was disgusting. Black duct tape holding booths together, walls banged up and dirty. We read reports and discovered many food violations with major kitchen issues. We will not go back.

Went for dinner because a friend recommended it. Large menu and the food was great. We'll be back.
