Love Martine. Everyone who works here is great. It's got a nice low key vibe early for people who like that and weeknights are a little more subdued but it gets busy and loud later on if that's your thing. Great drinks, quick service and comfortable seating or standing areas.

Nice little bar known for "kocktails" - it was a fun after work stop at a long day with a friend. There weren't other patrons there when we arrived, but that picked up, and we left with the place still full. The downside of the cute and newly renovated space was how cold the AC was!

Google apparently transfered my review of Cheshire to the new Martine so I've had to edit this review. Cheshire was a superb cocktail bar. Martine is not. It's loud, bland and expensive.

Great atmosphere. Very classy. A little loud at times but overall a great vibe for South Ave. The drinks are not to my personal taste, but I know a ton of people who do like them. They offer a smaller fun size drink for cheaper drinks and I highly recommend that. Great for a girls night out!!!
Parking: Park in the neighborhood or if you find some street parking.

Ive been a couple times and I think its has great potential and a great vibe. The space is really cool and I think Rochester has needed a hip inventive bar for young people. That being said, I often feel the drinks focus on being unique rather than tasting good. In addition I enjoy the music but it does not fit the vibe there at all. Its club music with a lounge/conversation atmosphere and often too loud to hear anything. I went on italodisco night and they didn't play any disco. I feel Im paying a premium for a drink I wouldn't choose if a vodka soda was on the menu and music I cant dance to and people I cant hear. I feel that jazz music or live musicians would fit the space far better or even more lofi type beats.

The overall space looks very cool, but once you take a closer look, it starts to unravel. The cocktail menu they have is probably some of the worse tasting drinks I’ve ever had. The food is rather bland and nothing to call home about. The staff was friendly so that was definitely a nice plus. It seems like a place you visit once and then never again. I have no desire to go back but glad I got it over with.
