I gave this diner 4 stars because the hostess was extremely rude! We asked for a booth and without saying a word to either of us, she walked to the nearest TABLE and threw the menus down. I said, we asked for a booth. She said there wasn't any when clearly there was. We pointed it out to her and she disgustingly grabbed the menus and threw them down at the booth. Then just rudely walked away. Our waitress was incredible! The food was very good. But they really need to get rid of the hostess who clearly doesn't like her job.

Sunny’s is a great local spot I’ve been coming to for a while now. I usually get the Egg-Cellent Combo with two eggs, toast, homefries, and sausage/ham and it’s always solid. Everything comes out hot and fresh, and the portions are just right. It’s a popular place for a reason, so if you’re aiming for breakfast, try to get there before 9:30, after that, it can be tough to grab a table. Lunch is a good option too if you want to avoid the rush. Consistently good food, quick service, and a friendly atmosphere, definitely a gem in the area.

The chicken and waffles were amazing! We also got a Cuban which was too salty (must have been fried in salted butter) so I don't think I'd get it again. The filling was tasty, though.

Location is easy to get to. Place is adorable with knick knacks all over the restaurant. You can tell there is history here. They had classic breakfast foods and fun creations as well. I would pass on the bacon pancakes, as it was mostly pancake and not a great batter. My favorite was the breakfast crunch wrap. My friend had the breakfast poutine and looovveeedd it. Worth the try and definitely get multiple things and share. There are many other items I would go back and try when in town again.

To be fair, they were super busy. It wasn't their fault. Our waitress was amazing. My waffle was overcooked. However they redeemed themselves with an AHHMAZING breakfast sandwich that was out of this world hence the 4⭐s. The people at the table behind were SOOO loud we couldn't hear each other talk again not their fault but ruined the atmosphere for sure

stopped by with my mom since we were in the area. great service. despite being packed, with people constantly at the door, staff were friendly and attentive. i wasn’t expecting such big portions! two huge plates of food for $15.
they had a decent variety as well. chicken tenders, burgers and fries, and classic breakfast options like french toast and omelettes, etc. would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to grab a great breakfast/lunch for a fair price ♥️♥️

This is my number one go to breakfast place in Rochester. Between the waitresses serving you with nothing but smiles and love and the amazing cooks in the kitchen putting there hearts and souls into each plate, you will feel like you are at home eating. Highly recommend!
