Very disappointing experience. The restaurant had strict time restrictions and kept rushing us from the moment we sat down. We were asked to place our order almost immediately and were pressured to order items up to a certain minimum amount. Instead of letting us enjoy our meal, the staff seemed more focused on getting us to order quickly and leave. It made the whole dining experience stressful and unpleasant. I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxed meal with family or friends.

One of the greatest Indian eateries I've been to in the Rochester region is Tandoor of India in Henrietta. Their buffet is a great option for families and groups with varying tastes because it provides a great selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine. A rich and fulfilling meal experience was provided by each dish, which was tasty, fresh, and made with real Indian spices.
Delicious curries, tender chicken meals, tasty rice, freshly baked naan, snappy appetizers, and a range of vegetarian delicacies were all part of the amazing buffet choices.
Tandoor of India is a great spot to have a filling dinner, regardless of how long you've been a fan of Indian food. This restaurant stands out for its genuine flavor, fresh ingredients, and top-notch service.
Anyone searching for a genuine Indian buffet with excellent vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections should definitely check out Tandoor of India. Whenever I visit Rochester, I will most certainly come back and enjoy another great lunch. This restaurant is a true hidden gem that merits five stars for its delicious food, friendly service, and consistently top-notch eating experience.
Tuesday buffet was really nice. Food was excellent.
When Tandoor of India first opened its doors in Henrietta, its ample buffet bursting with flavors blew away all Rochester competition. When they opened their Fairport location, they doubled their edge over all other Indian restaurants in the Rochester area. Between the two locations with both lunch and dinner buffets, we enjoyed Tandoor of India at least four times a week when we lived here. Since leaving Rochester in 2018, we have traveled to many states and countries. We have tried Indian food everywhere we’ve found it, only to be sorely disappointed every time. The Singh family and their recipes have set the bar way too high for anyone else to ever match. That is why we visit both locations several times each time we visit Rochester. This week we have indulged ourselves here five times. Yes, the food is THAT amazing!

Wonderful restaurant, very friendly staff. Food was very very good and prices are very reasonable. Portion sizes are great the atmosphere is very nice and open. There is music playing that is at a good volume and a very good mix of songs, which is nice when having a great meal. I ate too much to allow myself to order dessert, but next time I will take advantage of this.
I ordered from menu, but will come back for buffet at some time. They have both a lunch and dinner buffet which is always a great option if having Indian food with people who are not familiar.
I had the lamb Rogan Josh ordered medium spicy, and their spice scale is accurate. Naan was right out of oven and very generous. Recommended.

Ordered achari chaap & sizzling paneer tikka. Both dishes were delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for real indian flavors. 🤩
We visited for lunch as a family and chose this place for the buffet. When we arrived, there was no staff available to seat us, so we took a table ourselves. We had children with us, and once we had settled in and they had already started eating, the owner suddenly blasted at us in a very rude manner and demanded that we move to another table. This was especially frustrating since there were many empty tables and we were a group of six, so there was no apparent reason to relocate us.
Unfortunately, this experience disrupted our meal and left us very disappointed.

My wife and I stopped here after apartment hunting in the area, and we were both really impressed with our experience. We went for the buffet, and everything we tried was delicious. My wife especially loved the mango lassi.
What stood out most to me was the wide variety of options and how accommodating they were with dietary restrictions. There were plenty of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free choices. Even at the buffet, there were several vegan options, plus vegetable samosas and bread that had been made vegan (they had switched from butter).
They even offered to make a mango lassi with coconut milk (which was good), and a coconut-based dairy-free ice cream with fruit, which I thought was excellent as well.
