I’ve been to The Sheffield several times in the last few months. The staff is genuinely kind, the cocktails are lovely, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend The Shaddock (Gin, St. Germain, Aperol, Lemon Juice). The Nuggies and Dippies are killer, and The Sheffield Burger is out of this world. They use Amazing Grains bread, so you know it’s about to be astonishing! Oh, and if you need a boost before you leave, you can order a full or half French Press, and it’s quite good—not typical bar coffee! Anyway, if you love pubs, this place is for you. It’s also beautifully decorated and feels cozy. I think they’re the best around.

I've dined here while in Rochester, stay at my sister's about a block away. You wouldn't know you're about to have a super meal by just looking at the exterior of the building, but the food is great. There's lots of room, and the staff was friendly.

Had dinner here with a friend last night, and the food and service was excellent. I had the shrimp scampi appetizer as a meal, and it was the best I've ever had! The accompanying crostinis made with Amazing Grains' salt bread really topped it off!

The McBane is the best burger in town, no contest. Truly the best! The garlic bread is really good too! The staff are always friendly. Great service. Lovely atmosphere with a good selection of beers on draft. This is one of my favorite joints in town. 5 stars all around!

A decent pub with a good beer selection. Sports focused TV including soccer as a main watching sport. Clean and nicely appointed. Friendly accommodating service.

Only a four star because I have not eaten at Sheffs. I highly recommend have a cocktail there. The bartenders are excellent and take special care in making drinks. They are also knowledgeable of their liquor tastes and make excellent suggestions. A great place for drinks w friends.

First time at The Sheffield, on a Friday evening. Shepherds Pie was excellent, service too. Both the dining room and bar were jam packed, with an appropriate noise level!Parking was sparse, but it was Friday after 5 pm when we left.Overall I really liked The Sheffield, will be back!!

Familiar food choices executed cleanly and excellently along with some Rochester twists, with quick and friendly service. Great cocktails and many vegetarian and vegan options. The coconut lettuce tomato (CLT) sandwich was particularly good.Vegetarian options: There were many vegetarian and vegan options and they were done very well

Was a bit confused by British pub seating rules, usually US restaurants have a sign of you're supposed to seat yourself. The fish and chips were delightfully crispy but tender in the middle. When I declined the peas I was offered a substitute without asking. Husband had the shepherds pie which he really enjoyed except it was really hot. Be prepared to sit and converse while it cools. It was pretty busy but the wait time wasn't horrendous and there were a few tables free on a Wednesday night.Vegetarian options: The menu isn't huge, but there were at least 3 vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Was allowed a substitute with no fuss.Parking: Small plaza, you can park further down if the area in front is full. Don't bring the big truck, could be tight parking it.

Great place to hang out, eat and have a couple brews!Beer list is pretty solid for the area and they do an excellent job filling the hole left by The Tap and Mallet for British pub food.

If I could give it a negative star I would. The service was absolutely terrible. The food was not cooked to my liking, and was returned to the kitchen immediately. We asked to speak to the manager/ owner and was met with aggression and an racist demeanor when asked could something be compressed because it wasn't eaten. He was extremely nasty and unprofessional. The worst dining experience I've ever received. We never return and definitely do not recommend to anyone.
