Cristo's Wood Fired Pizza & Pasta

This was our first visit to Cristo's. Overall it was a very positive experience. The server was very pleasant and attentive. The delivery of food was timely and the food quality was very good. The portions were adequate, and we went on a Wednesday evening, so there was live music. If you were to ask for any constructive feedback I would say that our appetizer, although tasty, was delivered at room temperature (a disappointment). This left us to wonder if our entrees would also be served the same. Thankfully this was not the case. Additionally, while I understand that some restaurants may operate via an "a la carte" mentality, I would have hoped that my entree would have been accompanied by the choice of a salad or other potential side. Nevertheless, the dining experience was very good and we would definitely consider future dining here. Thank you!

I need to make you aware of a wonderful diamond in the rough on Rochester’s west side. My wife and I visited this quaint Lower Manhattan style eatery with my brother-in-law and his wife. This unassuming place from the outside pleasantly surprises once you enter with its quaint bar area, blacked out ceiling and twin open kitchen stations. First litmus test is the quality of bread with a full complement of spices to prep your own dipping oil. Check! Special of the day, Seared Halibut on a bed of risotto, didn’t disappoint, nor did my samples of homemade Rigatoni à la Bolognese (just like Mom’s Sunday sauce) or the Chicken Milanese! Completed the meal with an ample slice of homemade Ricotta Cheesecake with Berry Compote. The owner checked in with us several times. The table service was perfect. The glass enclosed wine cellar in the middle of the dining area completed an impressive ambience and dining experience. Run don’t walk to this most pleasant gastro treat!

It was our first visit to Cristo's, and we were pleasantly surprised. I have some severe food allergies, and they were extra helpful and careful to be able to accommodate. The prosciutto wrapped mozzarella was delicious, and the service was incredible!

Incredible, fresh, delicious, authentic Italian cuisine! Not enough adjectives to describe just how phenomenal it tastes. Sure to become our favorite restaurant ❤️

Service was very friendly, efficient, and timely. The menu is varied and there were several specials. The wine selection was a nice mix of Italian and domestic wines. I had a full bodied red Italian wine from Montepulciano. Our meals were delicious! My husband enjoyed ever bite of his pizza margarita. My arugula salad with chicken Milanese, pickled onions, tomatoes, with a bright citrus vinaigrette was very generous and I took home half of the delicious chicken. Don't miss this restaurant. It's a gem!

I'm surprised I did not hear about this restaurant before. The food was delicious. Both of us had pasta and dessert. They featured a filet mignon special that I almost chose and I hope they offer that next time I go. Because I was unfamiliar with the restaurant I didn't trust that they could cook a steak correctly. They can definitely cook, so I will order a steak next time. I had the fusilli pasta with Alfredo, peas and prosciutto. My friend had the bolognese pasta with all the meats. It was generously topped with fresh Asiago cheese. The service professionals made us feel like they were happy we were there. The creme brûlée dessert was one of the best creme brûlées I have ever had. First, it's not cold. Finally! A restaurant that does not serve it cold. And the sugary crust was thick with a shallow layer underneath. Perfection. I find this place to be a hidden gem and will definitely be returning soon with more friends!

I loved my experience at Cristo's - a friend and I shared some calamari - it was okay --- i thought the calamari was a little chewy and the batter could've been more cruncy - flavor was good and presentation was great! I had the chicken milanese which was very good. I'm a snob about cutlets and I thought they were okay and the dressing on salad was very good also. I love the ambience there and the service was excellent! overall I love the place and would definately go back - I love the MONDAYS no corkage fee as well -

We always have a great meal when we dine at Cristo's. We had a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. We ordered an appetizer, a salad and 2 pizzas. While we didn't give any specific instructions, the food all came out at the same time. I anticipated the salad and appetizer would be served first. I put that on us; we should have specified, though I also believe the server could have asked us as well. The owner is friendly and visits his patrons and that is a nice touch. Quality of food is excellent and always fresh. This restaurant is in our neighborhood and we always go back!

This is the best Italian food you will find in the town of Gates. The owners are there all the time and are very involved with the restaurant and talking to all its customers. If there's anything you need, they're the first ones to get it for you. They are amazing people. 

Had a great meal for our family this evening. Everyone raved about their meal. Chicken parm, homemade gnocci in homemade Alfredo sauce, chicken French with homemade pasta, and a delicious gluten free pizza for myself. The next time we are in the area we will definitely return. Great atmosphere, service, we even lucked out with live music. Loved it.
