Our first time trying Ethiopian food and we had a good experience. We had injera which was quite tasty and the different dishes in the front had really good flavor. The lamb and chicken were really good too. A nice local restaurant.

The food is unbelievable. The flavors are mouthwatering, and you get a large portion for a very reasonable price. They have gluten free ingera which is so lovely for those with an allergy. Highly, highly recommend. Lots of vegan options as well. The workers are very, very nice as well!

I’ve been going to this place for the past 8 years and have always had a wonderful experience. Both the owners are amazing people straight from Ethiopia and definitely know how to cook their food ? the flavors are right on point and their bread is super soft and fluffy. Try the coffee too, very strong and very good. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Try everything and then pick and choose what you would like more of from the buffet. They have a loyal customer for life!

First off, let me say this is by far the best tasting Ethiopian food I've had in Rochester, let alone outside of rochester. The flavors of everything were very vibrant, fresh, and well above what I expected. If anybody else here has had any Ethiopian food outside of Rochester, pretty much know that it's hard to find some places nearby. Going to DC, you have a plethora of options as it is pretty much the capital of Ethiopian food in the United States. This place is definitely on par and could thrive in that city. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and really wanted to serve us a delicious meal. Ordering there was kind of a buffet style, but they pick it for you, so it's kind of a la carte. You get your choices of as many of the items as you like, and you are more than welcome to come back up for more if you're able to, as the portion sizes are very generous. The injeerawas were very tasty and had a very pleasant chew. It was a very unassuming place but you'll be very satisfied if you do stop by for lunch or dinner on the quality of food and service. No knock to the other restaurants in the Rochester area, but this by far really had my taste buds in a frenzy, to say the least. Will be back again and again and again. I really wish I had taken some pictures before I dove in, but I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was pretty hungry and wanted to get down to business. LOL. I definitely will edit my review with pictures the next time I visit the establishment.Parking: No parking lot or garage. Only street parking available so that is why I say it's a bit difficult. But there is plenty of street parking otherwise

We (myself, my son and daughter-in-law) had the great pleasure of having the incredible buffet lunch at Zemeta yesterday and unanimously felt this was by far the most scrumptious, memorable Ethiopian meal we have ever had, (and I’ve been enjoying Ethiopian food for decades!). The injera was spongy, tangy, fresh and delicious for soaking up all of the wonderful and varied selections on the buffet. We tried just about everything, and for me each unique dish would get a perfect 10, but the green bean dish was so tasty and its melt in your mouth texture was over the top delish. As they say in Spinal Tap, it goes to 11! I can’t recommend Zemeta enough and will be back a lot! The lovely lady who welcomed us with her warm smile and served us was kind, friendly and informative, making the service as delightful as the food. Highly recommend!!
