Got 2 beef empanadas. Delicious, and only cost me 8 bucks. Staff was friendly. Place was well lit, clean, and upbeat with music playing. Will be going back to try other empanadas.

Never had a problem with Island empanada until today.. today I ordered the chorizo potato (my favorite) loaded potato, and the mini Mac and cheese balls. My order was wrong, instead of chorizo potato I was given Buffalo chicken. Typically I wouldn't have had a problem except for the fact that the chicken was so dry and unenjoyable. Family owned, the empanadas I ordered from Island Empanada were absolutely divine. The service was quick and the people were more than friendly. Their selection was large and I could tell that every empanada was prepared on-premise. The quality of the meat was superb. I go here every so often when my stomach desires something delectable. Believe me when I tell you that you will be satisfied.
