Standard bar fare with a couple of extra finner choices, nice staff and food was
Wing Night was great. Can't beat .50 wings. Good size wings. Our server was attentive. It was a bit warm in the dining room.
I visited the Rail and Canal only once since its transformation, but I used to frequent the establishment every Saturday night back when it operated as the restaurant/bar El Chico's. While I don't have any complaints about the current setup, I have a strong preference for and nostalgia towards the beautiful wraparound bar that El Chico's had. Presently, it's a more standard left-to-right bar layout.
Rail and Canal offers good food with great portions, and excellent service. While the atmosphere is pleasant, some may notice a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The restaurant's bar layout is standard, but those nostalgic for the former El Chico's may miss the wraparound bar. A great spot to unwind after a busy day.
