Weekend brunch and the dinner menu are incredible!
These guys had a lot to live up to since the Rosendale Cafe was such a beloved restaurant in our community, but let me tell you, they have nailed it!
The Bistrot is quickly becoming our local favorite spot to gather. They are a little above our price range honestly, but they have been brilliant in offering delicious and fun options for everyone.

Saturday afternoon, we cross the river and head to Rosendale for brunch at the newly opened Bistrot le Chat Barbu.
We start with the spinach and gruyere croquettes, a perfect beginning.
We move onto the main courses. My husband Noble has the silken Oefs Brouillés with potatoes and toast. I have the Jambon Buerre sandwich on a baguette from Kingston Bread + Bar, with frites on the side.

Bistrot le Chat Barbu is a very special and wonderful treasure in Rosendale. The restaurant offers a cozy, high-ceiling ambiance and is a welcome addition to the town. The chef is serious and passionate, with a talent for all kinds of French dishes, including various regional specialties. The menu has seasonality and variety, with many delightful options. Diners can enjoy dishes like the vegan Mounjetado, Coq au Vin Juane, roasted beet/mixed greens salad with cashew cheese, moules classique, and vegan risotto trapanese. There are also plenty of dairy-free and gluten-free options that deliver luscious French flavors. Memorable desserts include an enormous and delicious chocolate bread pudding and a chocolate mousse with fresh whipped cream and peanut brittle, described as one of the best desserts ever. The service and cocktails are also delightful, making it a place to which guests will definitely return.
