We really enjoyed the atmosphere although it was very loud. The 2 bus boys who brought the water and cheeses our entrees were great! The waitress was ok, a little rushed and not as attentive. The food all around was amazing. Would recommend and also dine there again.
Great service, a little slow, it was very loud but still a great place. Food was fantastic.
We were quickly seated and greeted by our two service people. Both were friendly and professional. The food was excellent and served hot, and prepared as expected. For dessert, the profiteroles are sinfully good, not chewy...light as air.
We went this time to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. Been here many times and never disappointed! One of our favorite Capital area restaurants!
Great ambience, food, location. Server Kevin was terrific. Easy walk from Broadway, hotels, and parking lot. Delicious hot homemade pasta, nice portions, good value for the money. Great desserts. ONE CAVEAT...super busy and NOISY. Already crowded at 5pm on a Friday. Definitely returning on next visit.
My husband ordered the 40 day aged steak ~ not aged; lots of grizzle and surrounded with fat which certainly does not mean it is not aged however he often orders steak that is aged and knows the difference. Advertised aged should be aged. Very expensive for an average steak.
As we were a few minutes early to our reservation we opted to go to the bar for a drink before sitting down. My boyfriend grabbed a menu he assumed to be a cocktail list just sitting on the bar. We were met with an extremely rude bartender who scolded him yelling “we actually give you your own menus so you don't have to steal your neighbors” we then were met with laughter and menus being tossed in front of us by her saying “here is all the reading material you need.” The exchange was so off putting and uncomfortable to the point we got up and opted to wait outside for our table to be ready.
We sat at the bar. Food and service very good. Mid range liquor selection. Something for everyone
Food was exceptional. Try the steak...the spinach...pastas amazing...carpaccio is very good (Italy quality). Well done!

Honestly it took forever for our actual waiter to come over, and it was crazy loud in there. The food was good and it's a cute place but was surprised with how loud it was
Vibrant and friendly atmosphere with a nice mix of 'regulars' as well as 1st time visiting tourists. Food was excellent with hearty portions. Open kitchen was fun to watch. Not the best place for an intimate, quiet conversation , tho. Emjoy!
My wife and I come to Chianti Il for our wedding anniversary almost every year. This year, I used OpenTable. Typically, I call to make the reservations. I updated the Occasion to Anniversary and I was pleasantly surprised. On our table, there was a card saying "Anniversary" and the staff was amazing about making it special for us. They even surprised us with Gelato for dessert. Highly recommend doing this for a special event. As always, I highly recommend Chianti Il.
Great meal and great service, as usual. Pasta cacio e pepe is outstanding. Shared tje artichoke and arugula salad. Also great.
The variety and quality of the food at Chianti is always excellent. From the grilled octopus appetizer, to the Carpacci (which is incredible), to the pastas and secondi, it never disappoints!!!!
