My husband & I followed my husband's favorite band SlipKnot to Saratoga Springs New York. It so happened to also be our 20th Wedding Anniversary so we decided to stay here at the Saratoga Springs Casino to celebrate. We checked in on a Weds & departed on Saturday. On our first day we of course were tempted to play on the casino floor before our concert. We were pleased to see that we were able to catch a bonus on the majority of the slots we played & the payout was much better than to be expected. We play at our local casinos Foxwoods or Mohegan and never get bonuses or payouts as often as we had here. It definitely makes the gambling experience more enjoyable that's for sure. Something to keep in mind, we found that Wednesday was the best day we had gambling. Thursday not so much & come Friday, forget it, you were lucky to get one bonus. One thing my Husband & I noticed on Wednesday is that the average age of the guests was about 55 & older. We saw very few people our age on the floor but of course we didn't mind. Friday night on the other hand was a different story. The mood changed from relaxed to loud and action packed. While many reviews you'll read will talk about the outdated decor of the Casino, my Husband & I personally found it to be quite charming. We're old souls so we can appreciate decor from the past. The machines are as well a bit outdated but nevertheless enjoyable to play & serve their purpose. One bummer though, the bar is pretty tiny & is tucked away far in the back of the casino so plan to get lots of exercise if you plan to have a few cocktails & check out the slots. Onto the hotel itself. Our room was large, modern, and very clean. We had a nice view of the horse track. The bed was unbelievably comfortable & the pillows absolute heaven! So much so that we're actually purchasing that style of pillow for our home. If you're looking to get a great night sleep while traveling to Saratoga Springs, this place is it! The bathroom is spacious but my gosh BE CAREFUL when taking a shower. They provide a mat for the shower floor but it's very small and only takes up a small portion so should you step off you're putting yourself at risk of having a serious fall because my gosh is that shower floor slippery when wet! I almost took a fall & forewarned my husband to be very careful. With the average guests ages being between 55 & up I'm surprised extra measures weren't taken into consideration when designing to shower. The Buffet was, well, a combination between Hospital Food & Cafeteria Food. While there is an o.k. variety to choose from sadly most of what you have to eat will be either too chewy, undercooked, or stale. I wouldn't recommend eating there. There is a Steak House that opens after 5pm that looked promising. Although we never did get to eat there it came highly recommended. We decided for the remainder of our stay we'd eat downtown. Overall we had a pleasurable experience here & would recommend anyone looking to stay in Silver Springs to stay here. Although 3 nights for us at a Casino was a bit much & might choose someplace else the next time the winds blow us out this way but will be sure to pop in this charming Hotel/ Casino. Good luck!!!

We come here yearly for a conference but never with our young son. Although the hotel is kid friendly, children are not allowed to be on the casino floor.. understandable but the entrance to one of their restaurants is only accessible through the casino so we could not join our adult party and went to Morton's instead. Can't they just put an exterior entrance and eliminate that problem ??

While our waitress was not Caroline, she worked very hard to make sure everyone was happy and had what they needed on order to enjoy their night. She was non-stop helping and cleaning up tables. She even assisted our table when our waiter was not available. She has very good energy and people skills.

Do not go to this casino. No concern for the player. My family will not come back. We were playing video roulette when the power went out. Live bets were on the table. The game supposedly played (we saw nothing) and our money was taken. After calling several supervisors we were told there is nothing they can do. Even though it says malfunction voids all plays. We only lost $40 on the bet but we will tell everyone not to go here.

I saw another review describe this casino as "sad and small" and well, that fits it perfectly. Low ceilings, tiny bar that is hard to find in a back corner, decor that is straight out of the 80s even though it is not old and non existent cocktail servers. I'll pass! While I realize that this is really the only option in the area, this is a very poor version of a regional casino. Even brightening up the place and making the bar more of a centerpiece would do wonders. Only highlight? Lots of parking and it's smoke free.

Very busy even tho the track season hasn't begun. Wait staff is very friendly. Drinks are good. Worth a visit.

The hotel itself was nice. I am traveling with my Mother who is a senior citizen with health issues and we needed assistance with our baggage. We drove 4 1/2 hours to get to the hotel. We told the staff we were never at the hotel and never in Sarasota Springs. The staff had absolutely no knowledge of ANYTHING. They didn't even know if there was a restaurant nearby. They told us nothing when we checked in about check out time, the complimentary shuttle, etc. They just kept saying they had no idea about the few things we asked. We had a Trackview room but our room had a view of the parking lot and dumpsters which is why we took the well-deserved upgrade I earned for being a loyal Expedia customer. On the Expedia website the room we booked had a clear view of the racetrack and we were suppposed to have a view of where it said "Saratoga Springs" in the lawn on the track. The girl who brought our bags up said they might not have done that yet because it's too early in the season, yet landscaping is normally done in the spring. The valet guy didn't tell us it was $8 each time we moved the car, there was no Bellman to take our bags (there was 5 people at the registration desk and we were the only ones checking in - they just said the Bellman left). They finally found an employee to help with our bags. They didn't know the horse racing schedule which we later found out is the same days all the time. So we went to get the car to drive around and find a restaurant when a gentleman approached us named "Art" who asked if we needed a ride. It wound up he was the shuttle bus driver so we had to pay the valet person and self park the car since Art was going to show us Saratoga Lake and center city Saratoga. He was very knowledgeable of restaurants and the history. He was a blessing. When we were checking out, I tried to tell Taryn at the front desk about the situation and she said "I wouldn't know about the valet, who worked yesterday or anything else." I asked for a copy of our invoice and she flatly refused. She said "we don't do that here." I was uncomfortable with that because they had my credit card. I've never (and I've traveled the country and the world) heard of anything like this. She was very rude. I asked if there was a manager and she said no and I asked who the manager is and she basically threw a card at me with the manager's name. I feel I earned through all my bookings the upgrade (which we normally never get) and the 2 water bottles. Their answer was "I believe so" and they all lived in the town. This was a very disappointing experience. I want you to know and I'll also write a review so others don't have the same experience. Upon check out when we called to ask for assistance with our luggage. The said "there's no bellman today." They also said "did you need help with your luggage?" It was very strange. I finally started telling them of my experience so they found someone to assist. He said he was doing 5 jobs because a lot of people quit, yet it was their busiest week of the year because of a concert in town. It seems there's a management and training problem which is probably why no one wants to be employed there. I've NEVER had such an awful experience with hotel staff. I will never go back to this hotel. Jun 18, 11:01 P

I have never stayed at this hotel and I never will. I called to book 3 rooms. As the employee was booking my 2nd room, she suddenly had to cancel my reservations because there was a 3 night policy stay for the weekend I was booking and I only needed the rooms for one night. I was charged for the first room and received a confirmation email, but was told that my charges were in the process of being reversed and I could no longer book the rooms. I asked to speak with a manger and left a voicemail. A manager did return my call, however, she did absolutely nothing to reconcile the situation. She stated that it was the employees error and she had spoken with them. Instead of trying to accommodate me, or offer something for a future stay, she basically said "sorry" and left me $600 out of pocket for a room that I will not have. The funds will be returned, but I do not feel this was handled properly.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Nicest room I have ever seen- beautifully decorated. The gambling is what most gambling places are like across the country- a place to make a cash donation- but nice, clean and modern. Mortons was great to eat at, very classy.

Customer service VERY POOR. I have sent FOUR REQUESTS THAT HAVE GONE UNANSWERED- 3 direct emails to manager and one thru contact form on website. I was on Expedia to book a room with two queen beds on to attend an event at their facility on 5/11 and thought I would call hotel directly to see if there were any block room rates. I was advised that there were not discounted rooms and a room with two beds was not available. I advised that I would book on Expedia versus direct as there was availability. She said it was an error on Expedia advised me to wait a little while and refresh the page as those rooms were gone . I did and advised that are still showing as available. She advised they were not and the only room was an executive King at a SUBSTANTIALLY higher price. I asked if she could give at same price and was advised no. I proceeded to book the room through hotel - as I believed her (con job) I refreshed Expedia an hour later and the rooms are still showing as available and would have allowed to be pay/reserve. I am not happy with your service and was looking for price relief to match Expedia. THIS REQUEST HAS GONE UNANSWERED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. If you need to go there at all, do not book directly- THEY JUST WANT TO CHARGE MORE. If I could give zero stars I would. HORRIBLE SERVICE

So the Hotel is great- clean rooms, good service- absolutely would recommend staying here. With that said, the casino is terrible. Do not gamble here! The games are all dated and this Casino has some of the worst payout rates in the country. Feel free to look it up- just do not gamble here!! Head up to Albany and you'll find a much better place to play.
