Our wait person Gabby made this just an exceptional evening. From start to finish the food and ambiance were perfect for a celebration dinner. Thank you.
Absolutely incredible experience! We went for our first time for our anniversary - Book it.
Our server was unfriendly and not very engaged. Food was good but nothing spectacular. The lighting was too bright. Could be better ambiance
I believe I dined at Salt & Char many years ago, but after my experience last night, I am not so sure that I did. I live in the San Francisco Bay area so I am used to overpriced restaurants, but this place was a little over the top. I invited many members of my family so we had a table of six. The ambience was good, the service was good, SOME of the plates were good, but overall it was a disappointment. We were served bread at first and it was delicious. My sister and mother ordered an espresso martini and a Manhattan, respectively and they were happy with the 2 drinks that each of them ordered. My niece's husband and I ordered some sort of fish soup and we both agreed it was delicious. I gave it an "8" and Josh gave it an "8.5" out of 10. After that dish, I was excited to devour the seared ahi tuna that I ordered. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The dish was priced over $50 and it was dry and apparently left to long to cook on one side. It was salty and dry. I will say that the portion was fair and even plentiful, but it was far from a delightful dish.
Our 3rd time at S&C, this time did not live up to our last 2. Perhaps Travers Weekend a mistake. Steak only ok and very pricey (our fault, porterhouse not on menu & we did not ask but $175 for 2 people), a bit fatty and overall only ok. Server did not ask if we wanted any sauces and overall did not feel as special as the previous visits.
seated at the lounge noise level was to loud. filet mignons was dry not cook as order. Sea bass was cold.
We had a wonderful evening dining outside at Salt and Char. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and delicious and we enjoyed the mushrooms and salads as well.
Great experience on veranda with excellent service and 2 bottles of very nice Italian wines , especially the Cabernet Franc .
Entire experience was great. Steaks were perfect, staff was great, would go back anytime I'm in the area
Over priced and poorly cooked food. Initially the steak came over well done even though I ordered it medium rare. A new steak arrived, seared so under cooked. Rather than complain again I ate 3/4 before giving up. So not worth it for $75 piece of meat. The waiter was shocked I said the food was only “ok” and when I declined his offer to make it right, he then sorta of gave up attending to my table after that.

Excellent staff, very attentive and fast. We sat towards the back and it was a little noisy, could use some sound dampening. Food is high quality cooked as asked, a little high on price but understandable based on location. Very good wine list and creative cocktails. Best Peach Melba I have ever had, top notch.
This restaurant offers an upscale dining experience in a great atmosphere and the food never disappoints.
Gabriella was our server and she provided answers to the questions we had regarding the me u on the spot. The whole team performed wonderfully and made the dinner extra special.
Gosh what a great experience. Got there a bit early to check out the bar for a cocktail. Both bartenders were friendly and attentive. Got to our table and were greeted by Aliah and then Michael. Both were really friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We both had steaks cooked perfectly. The best steak i have had in a long time. Michael was so knowledgable and picked the perfect wine. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.
Everything we had at Salt and Char was perfect. It's one of two steak restaurants in the US we know where we consistently enjoy an absolutely perfect meal every time. I do love char on a steak and my filet mignon had the most delicious char (as one would expect at a restaurant named Salt & Char). It's nice that they offer several portion sizes. The salad was fresh and my wife and I split it, which was a perfect serving size for us. We dined on a Friday night which is prime time, so it was busy and the server was a bit slow, but still reasonable. We live in NJ and dining at Salt & Char is one of the reasons we visit Saratoga Springs several times a year. It's that good. Wish we had a restaurant this good where we live.
