New to the area and just exploring the Beekman Street area for the first time when we came across The Barrelhouse. We were greeted warmly by the bartender, Scott. There was a bluegrass band playing and the vibe of the patrons there was pleasant and welcoming. The crowd was mixed in age range and reminds me of a few of my favorite townie haunts back home. The kinda places where you can come as you are, nothing fancy, just laid back. We were chatting with another patron when we met the owner, Charles. He gave us a few tips about the area and was very friendly. I cannot speak to the food as we did not eat there but our bartender was attentive and service was quick. The place is smaller but to me that gives it a more homey vibe. There is a nice outdoor patio area that it's probably very enjoyable during patio season. Prices for drinks were reasonable in my opinion. We had an enjoyable time and will go back again. This place might not be everyone's vibe but it's definitely mine.

We got to the Barrelhouse and it was very empty at first. There was just one full table so we thought we would eat fast and leave, as we were headed to a SPAC concert. Boy we were wrong. We got our drinks 20 minutes later which was fine (beer on tap and canned beer); however, from the time we placed our food order to when we got it, it was past an hour. They were getting a little busy (3ish tables) however no one else had ordered food and we were still waiting. It's a small sports bar on a busy street. I think I would maybe come back if it wasn't a weekend.

After waiting for 40 minutes and no wings or food,I went in to ask about the food and was told they were saucing the wings. 25 minutes later they came out. When I asked I was told the first ones were too well done so they had to be remade. The wings that we received were both burnt and raw at the same time. The burger was also cold. In total the food took an hour and 10 minutes and was definitely not worth the wait.

Go for the amazing beer selection and NOT for the food. The servers would good and fun but the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were terrible (dry as heck). They are very knowledgeable about beers and can select one based on your preferences. We would go back, but not to eat. Fun atmosphere with a nice little patio that allows dogs.

Amazing. We walked in with 11 people at 9 pm and they served us no problem. Live band was great as well. 10/10 would recommend

Chef likes it gritty and super well done. My wife & I ordered two beers (great) but the smash burgers sides were very unconventional coleslaw and potato salad (both vinegarFlavored ) and the Patty Melt & Chopped Cheese burgers were both heavily charbroiled ( chef's choice?). We wondered why it seemed to take a long time in the kitchen... The chef or owner came by to ask about the cheese for the chopped cheese but then didn't comeback to see how we fared. Loved the beer house vibe with the dart board & hockey game on the Telly. We'll comeback for drinks and be a lot more specific on prep next time we order food.

The beer list is very good and that's where things end. The food is sub par. The cheesesteak is bad. Meat tastes old, too much cheese which tries to cover up the stale bread and old meat taste. The wings are annoying. Cut them. No one wants to eat a whole wing. The wings also tastes frozen and left over. I think they went cheap on the food and it shows. I've given them a few second chances but I'm done. Not worth the price or stomach cramps.

Black Friday 2022... My family and I came in to grab a bite and a few drinks. We were the only people sitting in there (around 7PM) aside from a few at the bar. One of the initial beers we asked for was sold out, not a big deal. We placed our orders with a few modifications -- nothing crazy. After about 30 minutes or so the food came out. Right away we realized the sides had been messed up per each order. Once my father inspected his burger, it was totally wrong. No lettuce, no tomato, and none were the 1/2 pound Pat LaFrieda burgers advertised on the website. Actually, when I asked about that brand of burger, the bartender/waitress didn't know what I was talking about. Additionally, they were cold. The bartender/waitress came over to ask how our food was toward the end of our meal. I told her the order was incorrect and she said she was going to tell the manager/owner. Not sure what they discussed, but he was on the phone the whole time and never came over to our table. As another side note, they put peas in the macaroni salad. All around terrible. This used to be a good place to eat when they served the smoked whole wings, but my understanding is that these are off the menu as well. Lastly, two of the burgers we had were supposed to be bacon burgers and were $16 on the menu, the bill came and they were $17 each. Not trustworthy either. I won't be back there again.

Amazing place. We ordered their chicken quesadillas with their chubacabra sauce and the chicken is amazingly grilled. Best quesadilla I have ever had in my life. Do be prepared to wait a bit for food because meat is freshly grilled to order! Also, our bartender/owner is amazing. We will be back again.

Katya was the only waitstaff for outside and she was KILLING IT! Great service, food, and entertainment (Timebomb) for after the Firecracker 4.

The food here was awful. We ordered the hot links appetizer and they were not smoked sausage. They were some kind of sausage that you get at the grocery store. Then we ordered the chili doodles which were corn chips with chili and "beer cheese "there was no beer cheese. It was cheese out of a can for nachos. We also ordered a grilled chicken buffalo wrap which was okay. If you want to hang out there for a drink that might be fine but, I wouldn't eat there. It was a Friday night at 6:30 and There was only one other table eating in the restaurant.

Nice but overwhelmed staff. Menu inspired but execution of dishes needs some work. Appetizer late and cold. Dinners also had cooled off a lot before they came to our table. Tastes were good, construction was messy. Will definitely give it another try. Has great potential.

Overall not worth the money. Paid about $80 got two appetizers which were merely alright and two Burgers which came BURNT (I had ordered Medium and the other was suppose to be medium well.) with two sides that were underwhelming small in portion. For the price I paid I was quite disappointed. Not to mention we were practically the only customers that weren't at the bar and we waited forever for our appetizers and our food. We didn't even bother to send them back as we did not want to wait any longer for our food. The only real positive thing I could say was that the service was friendly.Side note: I left the same review on Google reviews and took a moment to read some of the other bad reviews. (maybe should have read before eating here) One review I read in particular was fairly similar to my experience and the owner responded to the review very unprofessionally and childish. Which I found shocking and thought I'd share. It's quite unfortunate the staff and owner is oblivious and doesn't seem to take any reviews to heart and seem to only appreciate positive reviews. And I dug through the reviews the negative reviews seem all very similar and still take place over the course of them opening without much improvement. And 90% of positive reviews are solely based on their beer.
