My grandma did not make pizza but this grandma's pie is awfully delicious. My group showed up at this same old same old pizza joint. We were the only customers. You could feel the grease on the floor and the table. Clearly this is a local favorite. It may be the only decent pizza spot for miles. They claim to offer wood fired pizza but the oven was not operational. If you have one you should use it! Truth be told we already had our target set on the Grandma's pie. Four stars for the (made to order) Grandma pie. If there's one thing that makes me sad, it's when a pizzeria goes to the expense and trouble of installing a wood oven, and then they don't use it. Wood ovens are only for those who take their pizza program very seriously (you'd be surprised how many pizza places don't take their pizza seriously.) Federico's closed down in July, rumored to be opening under new ownership. (Anyone posting 1-star reviews below from the last week or two is not legit.) Sadly, Covid got a hold of another quality small business... Federico's was far and away the BEST PIZZA in the entire Saugerties/Kingston/Woodstock area. Renovation/re-opening signs put up recently... let's hope they hire back the original pizza chefs and the standard remains high!
