Coming from Hong Kong, I have a good amount of craving on above-standard Chinese food. I enjoy coming to Mister Chan, their crab meat and pork steamed dumplings are authentic with a gold star. I also tried their cocktails, they're decent and with a great atmosphere, I would come back again.

Save your money and go elsewhere. The decor and prices DO NOT reflect the quality or taste of the food they are serving. NO DIFFERENCE between Mr. Chen Seafood restaurant next door and the Mr. Chen Express.Food isn't fresh, like it has been microwaved or fried multiple times. Now seeing their recent NYS Health Department review, we now know why we felt sick afterwards. We've ordered take out for family and had dinner with friends the other night and to say it's mediocre is far too generous. But it's part of the neighborhood and you want to give them a chance. Not "authentic Chinese" or whatever they are selling and why are the dishes so gloopy saucy and like old oil tasting? Like they reused or did not clean the cooking oil.Do yourself a favor and go to Seven Woks or Aberdeen.

Definitely not the worst place around, but nowhere near the best the area has to offer for Chinese. The food is solidly "fine". A step above typical American Chinese, but unfortunately maintains the greasy aspects of those bottom tier places. But! Mister Chen nicely makes up for that with a good atmosphere and good cocktails, both of which are a rarity for Asian restaurants. So if you really want some Chinese, but also want an Up Glass, this is your place.

The casher is rude and mean. They have live seafood display outside of the restaurant, some animals are definitely look distressed and suffering. This horrible and disturbing!

Great soup dumplings. Crab meat and pork combination is my family's favorite and the chili oil makes it 100x times better.

Very happy first time eating here.We would occasionally order from the express next door but was never super impressed. But the in person food experience was much better. We tried the crab which was delicious (5/5)! Fried and seasoned well. Biggest complaint was the lack of spiciness. Lobster+Pork dumpings were delicious, but would probably stick with the solo pork next time. The house fried rice was also a (5/5), great variety and it was seasoned well! Chinese sausage was a great addition. Way better than some of the fried rices we got from Chen Express and other local spots (but that might also be due to mixing some bites with the crab toppings). Spring roll was okay but would probably skip (3/5).They unforunately have no dessert but have a decent cocktail list and a great bar in front. The restaurant filled up as time went on, but was maybe at 50 - 75% full for a Saturday night. Service was pretty slow but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt since it just opened.

It was our first time eating here, and it was a great experience. The food was excellent and fresh, and they served a good portion, so much so that we took some leftovers. The service was terrific, and the atmosphere and decor made you feel like you were eating in China. We loved the plate settings and the utensils. The only negative about this place was that it was freezing and not enough heat.

Ambience very good. Food very inconsistent. Had disappointing Chicken with orange sauce and Spareribs last night. Both seemed to have same sweet gooey sauce. Bok choy with garlic was tasty but cold. Hot and sour soup was good. I had eaten here a few months ago and the food was delicious.

If I was on my deathbed and I had one last meal I would get up and walk to this restaurant for the atmosphere, the food, and the service. I would give this place more than five stars if I could because everything was perfect. The stunning entrance door with the neatly organized bar just sets a relaxing atmosphere to sit down and enjoy the delicious food that melts in your mouth. I overall think this is the best restaurant I have ever been to. I am really picky with my food especially seafood but there was not one single bad thing that I have tried on the menu. I definitely recommend the calamari, it was my favorite!

The service needs some improvement for sure and another issue is that it is simply cold inside.Other than that everything was just fine.
