One of the most enjoyable wining and dining experiences on Long Island. With a large, lively and lovely bar, Madiran's selection of wine is impeccable. Along with several, select dining options, you'll experience a classic/classy beyond pleasant experience.
Before the authentic and hearty Hunarisn Goulash is taken taken off of the 'winter menue' I suggest you go to Madiran The Wine Bar.
You'll be so glad you did!
Almost forgot. -- really great live music, too...(jazz, standards, popular songs too performed tastefully and NOT loud!
Here's to you, Jacqueline. For being such a slammin' knowledgeable, kind and friendly proprietress!!
You rock!!

Madiran The Wine Bar is truly one of the best local wine bars around—a genuine gem that keeps you coming back. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed, comfortable, and completely taken care of. Jackie, the owner, is an exceptional wine sommelier who genuinely knows her craft. Her knowledge is impressive, but what really sets her apart is how effortlessly she shares it in a way that’s inviting, approachable, and never intimidating.
Jackie has an incredible ability to remember exactly what you like. She treats you like family, recalls your favorite styles, and is always ready with thoughtful recommendations tailored perfectly to your palate. She takes the time to explain flavor profiles and tasting notes, and somehow convinces you to step outside your comfort zone—only for you to discover a new favorite every time.
The service is consistently warm, friendly, and attentive, creating an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and elevated. On select Thursday nights, the live music by The Jazz Loft is absolutely outstanding and adds such a special vibe to the experience. Pair that with the excellent selection of wines and the many food options available, and you have the perfect spot for a memorable evening.
It’s hard to say enough good things about Madiran. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or just starting to explore, this is a place that makes you feel welcome, informed, and appreciated. Do yourself a favor and swing by—you’ll be glad you did. 🍷

Bartender was knowledgeable and made great suggestions on wines based on what we told her we liked. Also a classic literature savant apparently which made for good conversation. Charcuterie was large and a good value. 10/10 would recommend.

Went with my wife for our anniversary. Walked into pleasent live music, and inviting atmosphere. Sat at a rather small table for two. The menu looked really promising, so we were prepared to eat. The have a huge wine selection. We started with a board, which was alittle skimpy for $45. But fine. Then we had we ordered 3 small plates, before our intended mains. The summer salad, was bland, and lacked the blood orange dressing, couldn't taste it. The octopus, was very tough and flavorless. The pork belly was also very chewy, and had no flavor or sear. It was like it was only boiled. I forcibly ate everything, being I was starving after a long day at work. (and $60 worth of small plates) We decided to cut our losses on a nice meal. We left and ended up eating dinner somewhere else. The staff was pleasent, no complaints there. Just the food was a big disappointment.

Live jazz, best charcuterie on the island, nice atmosphere too. The owner Jacqueline is a beautiful soul who creates an oasis, an escape from the outside. I'm a 45 minute drive and it's well worth it. If you need a culture fix, a kitchen that executes and good service, just go.

Lovely place for wine tastings. Big menu and staff were very friendly. Went with 3 other friends and we had a great time. Their desserts are made in house and so delicious - highly recommend the creme brulee and key lime pie. Would definitely come back. Live music was good too!
We went there yesterday and we liked this place. There was good music and it was not too crowded. The food was excellent!
I had mussels, Husband lamb chop. Both dishes were extraordinarly good: well chosen, well made and very tasty. Also the wine - a red Madiran - was good and all in all not so expensive at $40.
Suggested room for improvement
1. Add a selection of Grappa (suggest Nonnino)
2. Improve the tagliere - we had the spanish one and it was very lean (two slices of Jamon serrano, two slices of Chorizo and two slices of cheese) and the jamon was not really a jamon but more a prosciutto...tagliere in Europe MUCH better than this...
All in all very strongly suggested - a place to go. They are walking distance from us and we are sure we will return. They should have a backyard or an open air space for the summer!!
Waits for service, recommend another waitress on a weekend evenings.
You can make a meal with the apps alone! Unique wines that were recommended to suit my taste! The food was delicious, authentic yet modern dishes!
