I’m a Long Island expatriate who’s “home” on a visit to see my dad. I know that some bagel shops sell dozens at deep discounts in the last hour of the day, so I ran down here to Lawrence Ave. to see if Bagel Smith does so. Google Maps said that they were closing soon—16:00. (It’s Thursday.)
Well, I got here at 15:20, walked up to the shop, and noticed that it seemed dark inside. Yep. The door was locked. They were closed more than a half hour before their stated hours said they would be. That’s disappointing, because from the outside, it looks like a nice shop.
I hope that they didn’t have a family emergency or something to necessitate closing early, but apart from that, I don’t know why they would. It’s unseemly to close early by 40 minutes just because things might be slow.

Awesome egg sandwiches, great bagels, and the spreads are all delicious and handmade. The ladies who run the show there are top notch,I've never had an issue with a single order in the five years I've frequented the establishment. That in itself is truly remarkable!!!
I’ve eaten here 3 times over the past 2 weeks and got awesome egg sandwiches both times. My little brother went and he loved it aswell. We are super picky egg sandwich eaters and they nailed all 7 sandwiches we’ve bought. Highly recommended. Amazing bagels.

I've been coming here for a long time because its closer to my house than others, but somethings have changed here. The Bagels have shrunk to almost mini size and the pricing has gone up alot with all there stuff. I know things have been going up, but when your buying a couple of bagels and couple of drinks and add maybe a egg sandwich in there and the price is over 30 dollars. Thats not a good deal. I compared it too 24 hr bagel and you get way more for your money and the bagels are huge and better. Cant come here anymore, just not worth the money. But there staff is great..I love the old lady ,but have to move on.
