“We already love their food, but tonight we found out their customer service is just as good! We ordered dinner and when we went to pick it up, found out that they ran out of one of the items in our order. Not only did they offer us an alternative, they threw in some extras to make up for it! “Our experience with Jocelyn on Aug 30th was so good it was worthy of a review. Very rarely do we come across an employee at a fast casual restaurant that makes our experience amazing. She was extremely busy but yet she still had a big smile, spoke beautifully, gave us her full attention and treated us with respect. She did not give us an attitude when we asked for an item to be subbed out on a burger and multitasked quickly and effectively while putting orders together. Before we left, we noticed they had a seasonal pumpkin shake that sounded interesting. We asked if we could try it to see if we liked it. We did not know it wasn't pre-made. She quickly, happily, shifted gears and made a small sample from scratch. Most people would not have bothered as that was a lot of work to do (and clean up). We were very impressed and grateful. She deserves recognition as we left there with good feelings and a desire to have that delicious shake. We called the store and expressed our impressions with the assistant manger. We hope it gets back to her and that she gets the credit she deserves (hopefully a raise).

If the prices are going up with less portions that’s going to be a problem for Friendly’s. I would hate to see them go out of business because I love Friendlys too!!“

I'm a driver, and I walked into a savoring, flavorful, grill burning aroma (burgers on the grill) and I had to order for myself , I couldn't resist, even though the route was out of the way. “Had the pleasure of choosing Tara Inn for lunch today, every establishment can learn a lesson from the customer service that my friend and I experienced. Upon walking in we were greeted by Peter, Tara’s husband and son-in-law of the founder who named the bar for his daughter 47 years ago. We told him it was our first visit and he offered us seats and welcomed us. The regulars at the bar guided us through the menu and we each had a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles for $1 per burger expecting very small burgers we were surprised to find them standard sized and deliciously prepared to medium. My friend had the fried shrimp and I had a $13 steamed lobster! Excellent! They offer daily specials and one of the gentleman at the bar told me their steaks are very good. Every staff person went out of their way to make us feel at home. A charismatic women came out from the back and introduced herself as Tara she thanked us for choosing to lunch there. Why can’t other places realize the importance of making a first time patron feel welcome. I
Had a great afternoon enjoying the excellent variety of beers that they provide on tap. The charming decor has probably changed little since the ‘70s and that adds to the vibe. If you want to go to the friendliest bar on Long Island, head over to Tara Inn.“

“I’m writing this review not because it’s family on my Dad’s side that owns the place, but because I have been going to this Ihop since I was a young kid in the late 1980s. Andy and Ellen are phenomenal human beings and really go out of their way to ensure their customers and staff are super happy. The food quality is always top-notch. This is not fast food despite what some people claim.

I frequent here biweekly with friends for breakfast, and I’m never disappointed.
