Mom came by ambulance and was handled immediately by staff. Emergency room was crowded...but it is being renovated. Staff was attentive no complaints anywhere in CCU. Excellent CCU. Clean. Food delivered to patient within minutes of ordering.

Friendly nurses, doctors, and even receptionists. First place I've ever been to where everybody is friendly and takes the time to explain everything in great detail to you.

Went to the St. Catherine's Emergency Room the other evening for what turned out to be a hernia. My family has lived in the area for over 40 years and have been to the St. Catherine's Emergency Room and Hospital many times over the years. Lying on the gurney waiting to be discharged after my medical condition was evaluated, diagnosed and treated, it occurred to me what an incredibly special staff that they have here. From the security guard at the front door to the people that transport you around the hospital for diagnostic tests and all the Doctors and Nurses. Everyone I met that took care of me was extremely professional, courteous, caring, efficient and just plain excellent. I felt like they treated me like I was family. It actually brought a tear to my eye to be so fortunate and blessed to have an Emergency room staff like this in my neighborhood and it has gotten even better over the years. Thank you to all the staff at St. Catherine's Hospital and Emergency Room for you exceptional care. It did not go unnoticed and is very much appreciated. You make a difficult job look like a walk in the park.

We were in the Emergency Room yesterday, I can't thank the staff enough for the professionalism, caring, and general goodness. Naturally, there was a wait, perfectly appropriate for our situation. Visitors were asked to leave and the ER closed to us for the afternoon, also totally appropriate given the circumstances. That being said, Gerald F, at the security desk was so kind to us all and kept us informed of the situation as best he could. Knowing that someone is there to protect and provide any necessary information makes a stressful situation much easier to handle. Thank you all for everything, too many great people to name names...

On Saturday October 22, I went to the ER dept of St. Catherine's of Sienna in Smithtown at the advice of my PCP. I had developed pretty severe anemia and he thought I may need a blood transfusion. After sitting in a room for an extended period of time (approximately 8 hours), I decided to Leave ,go home to regroup, and seek care at another facility. I was cornered on the stairwell by two large men. One wearing a suit (head of security perhaps?), the other a security uniform. When I said I had the right to leave , suit said "F**k you, you have no Rights". At the time I had been holding my phone in my right hand and I guess my fear prompted me to Hit record . You can clearly hear security respond that they had the right to Hold me against my will which is absolutely untrue. There were neither mental Health reasons (I was there for anemia) or medical reasons (I did take myself there) and no doctor orders due to Either of those reasons which would allow them to Hold me. Guy in suit then instructed guy In security uniform to "just grab her". I was absolutely terrified! I was then very forcefully grabbed and a struggle Ensued. You hear me screaming ow as he was hurting me and could see that he had me In a bear hug. I then started screaming for help at which point I was released. I'm not sure if my screaming caused my release, or they realized they were being recorded. I was able to get video of one face and the actual attack. I did email someone named Angela who stated that she is close to head of command for patient advocacy. I included the video which is pretty horrific. The email was sent a week ago and not even a response. I have a very strong feeling that this is not the first time this staff has abused their position at the expense of patients. I still do not believe this has happened to me. People need to be aware, have the opportunity to come forward if something similar happened to them, and this hospital needs to be held accountable. *UPDATE*. After sending an a email to Angela immediately before writing this review expressing my disappointment on no response, I received a vm from someone named Mary who Stated that she is head of patient advocacy requesting that I call her. I had already made it clear that I wanted correspondence in writing only (via email). This is due to Both the fact that I would like documentation of any conversations, and speaking about this is very traumatic and I cannot speak about it without breaking down. Just another piece of evidence that they do not care about safety of Patients and are trying to Maintain an upper hand.

I had been treated for appendicitis at this hospital yesterday. I got surgery for it and it went well. The staff were very nice. All the nurses who treated me as well as the doctor/surgeon were kind. Great hospital and staff

One of the most overpriced low quality places I have ever been to. Prices are outrageous for the quality of food you're getting. You're better off going hungry.

Ive been to a hospital or two in my day, experienced an ER trip every few years of life either for someone else or myself. But let me tell you my brothers and sisters in Christ, this place will treat your loved ones with severe disrespect. The staff are uncommitted to their positions and view themselves as so selfless that they become truly selfish. I have never felt so disregarded in an institution before. You are worth more than this place. Thank you.

Just got my first colonoscopy and it was a very pleasant experience! EVERYONE was so sweet, kind, and professional. Would definitely recommend them especially if it's your first time. Keep up the great work!!

This review is to draw attention to the security guards at St. Catherine of Siena Nursing & Rehabilitation Care Center. Let me put it this way, if brains were dynamite, they could not blow their nose! My brother, who was in rehab, for the first time in several months, could have solid food. I picked up his favorite Cuban sandwich and brought it to the rehab center at noon. I know visiting starts at 1:00 PM but thought either I could run the sandwich to his room and immediately exit or the security guard would take the sandwich and deliver it on my behalf. Neither option was accepted nor was an alternative resolution suggested by these guards! I stood outside the door holding a sandwich while my brother was in bed less than 100 feet away on the first level. A nurse on the floor who heard my cell phone conversation with my brother got him into a wheelchair and brought him outside to enjoy his lunch. Sure, it all worked out well but someone needs to get these security guards to think outside the box!

came in with my girlfriend her hand was cut bad and bleeding, and the guard gave us an attitude and said i couldnt be there and i couldnt wait outside either i had to go to my car and then as my girlfriend is in there he gives here an attitude and then when a white lady came in he proceeded to handle her situation with care unlike us amd then when the nurse took her in the nurse gave her an attitude too, honestly really unprofessional and racist, but thats what we get for not going to Stonybrook i guess

Awful!!! I understand it's an emergency room and serious injuries go first. But after over 4 hours of waiting in the emergency room with a terrible Covid cough and fever I still don't even know if I will ever be called in as they made it very clear that Covid is on the bottom of their list. I would say don't offer services you don't really care about!!!

I got to St. Catherine's at 12:20 am choking, coughing, spitting up and asked to see someone. The only one there was the guard who couldn't check me in, and insisted I put on a mask. I was gagging with a burnt throat and esophagus problems, showed him my Antibody results and wearing a mask would have been hazardous to my gagging and spitting up. I asked to be put in a private spot so I wouldn't have to wear a mask. They didn't care. After being there for 5 hours with the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced, I walked out. The worst Hospital I've ever been in. My lady friend was on the phone with me and heard their abusiveness towards me. She was appalled.

I have to say the staff was very attentive to my needs. I felt the staff was fair young and was Seay to talk to. I know the visiting room was more strict. I had to stay over night. My recovery room was clean great view. I did have to share a room with another woman. We actually talked for awhile and she was really nice. I have to go back later this year for surgery, but I feel comfortable going there.

My wife went in because she had a temperature of 100.7 and felt weak. We wanted to know if there was an infection. She went in on a Saturday and came home on Tuesday. That night, the fever came back, she still has weakness, and she now has a large infection on her rear end. A bed sore in 3 1/2 days. The sore is full of puss. We called the hospital to speak to her doctor but we were told that once my wife leaves the hospital, we may not contact her doctor. The staff was aware of the sore. They did not provide medications or directions on treatment. She came home worse than when she went in and no idea where the infection is in her body. 631-232-1018
