We have gone to garden grill maybe two or three times. Older crowd, mid 60’s. The bartenders r the WORST. Don’t even look at you when you ask them for a drink -they ignore you. The one bartender per the owner Fred said he was having a “melt down”! Not my problem. The same bar tender said to us - that’s not the way you ask for a drink!? We had to tell
him to look around- no eye contact
-literally sitting there for ten minutes without being asked what we would like to drink. What a terrible experience. Low level bartending & class. Look around and serve your paying customers! Terrible terrible BAR service
It was an enjoyable evening.

The Garden Grill has for many years been my local superior restaurant of choice. I live out of State but every time I'm in New York - I go to the Garden Grill at least once. GREAT food. Love their Seafood dishes. This place NEVER disappoints me.
Worst steak I ever had. Had to send back twice was so over done. Left without eating. For my gf and dad’s meal he had duck said was ok gf had short rib said was dry 220$ that’s with the manager taking my steak off for 3 people all I had was a pretzel. Not a cheap place. Better off at any good steakhouse on li For the price

Didn’t have a great service or food first visit so tried again today. Service was better, however food still very poor relative to the cost. For example, chicken pot pie was no better than frozen food version (soggy, salty, without any bottom and barely a side crust). The sea bass was deeply fried (including bottom burned) and presented as an oversized, overcooked fish stick. Still a cozy atmosphere…but recommend sticking to the bar menu/appetizers only.

We did takeout, say my review of the service and atmosphere is just based on the appearance of the inside when I picked up my food and the service I recieved during my pick up. With that being said, the place looked nice and clean and the food was very good.

The food was good but the service non existent. The host was nice but the waiter preferred to hide. Overall has a nice quiet upscale vibe. Homey environment with nice traditional decor. The chicken francese was excellent and meatloaf as well. The only issue we had was the waiter had nothing to contribute. Considering these prices I expect at least the happy greetings I get a the local applebee's. Maybe ask if the food us ok after serving it. Maybe ask if I want another drink seeing my glass is empty. Maybe show your face occasionally. Maybe I don't have to leave my seat to ask for something like a napkin or dessert? And the place was almost empty! But otherwise, the chicken franchese was excellent. So was the meatloaf. Our complements to the chef.

I always loved The Garden Grill. We went on 11/15 and were a party of six. We had a nice table in the fireplace room. My dinner, Mediterranean Salmon was disappointing. Two of us at the table had the same. The salmon was maybe a 6” long by 1” wide portion. Never in any restaurant was I served such a tiny slice. It was very overcooked and dry. Could not even finish it. It was almost as if they were short on salmon and had to ration to portion. The rest of the dish was fine. If not for the good company and ambience I would have given a lower rating, however I will be back again but not for the salmon.

This place was wonderful. It has a little bit of everything, romantic rooms for dining, and entertainment in another room. The entire place is Victorian and beautiful. The food was great. I had the short ribs. Yummy. Definitely going back.
Very nice restaurant, nice decor, tables well spaced away from each other to allow plenty of privacy. The service was very good and so were the prices, the food was another story. The grilled octopus was just about uneatable, tough and chewy to say the least, I had a hard time to even cut it with a serrated knife, the sauce on the side was ok. For main course I had the risotto with shrimps and fresh baby arugula, the shrimps were good, but the risotto way overcooked, it was like a soup. The Italian cheesecake was way too old and tasteless and the carrot cake uneatable. Coffee was ok.
Such a beautiful restaurant; where each room makes you feel cozy. The food is excellent. I had the bbq ribs - amazing! My husband loved the Weiner Schnitzel. He really enjoyed it.
I chose The Garden Grill to celebrate the birthday of a special friend. There were six of us and we were seated at a round table as I had requested so we could see each land chat. All of us thought our meals were delicious. Robert was our server and he was efficient and charming, especially singing happy birthday. We all had a great time enjoying a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting. Susan
