So, Sonny's makes their own drinks (sorrel, peanut punch, mauby, etc.), and their peanut punch is pretty good, but their sorrel tastes like sugar water almost. Their service, nonetheless, is amazing. The ambiance is a bustling, yet calm one.

I've never tried Trinidadian food before coming to Sonny's and this place did not disappoint. We ordered:* Doubles* Chicken curry* Goat curry* Roti* Dhal PuriThe curries and roti was incredibly satisfying and flavorful but DOUBLES is where it's at. It was honestly the best thing I've ever had. It's fried dough with chickpeas and it was spicy, savory, and delicious. You'll be so surprised that it's vegetarian as well. Next time I'm ordering like ten of these. Also, if you love spicy, you will love their hot sauce in the small to-go cups. You have to check out this spot!!

Great food, always busy, staff is always full their attitudes aren't always the best but it out weights the food. Definitely a staple and "go to" stop. We travel from the Bronx just to have there food. Amazing Trinidadian food

The food is good. Feels like we are back home on the island (Trinidad). By far one of the best spots in NYC for doubles. Prices are good. And they have island peppers and snacks. Biggest downfall to the restaurant is the wait time. I stood outside for 30 mins before i was inside and then it took them 25 more mins to get my order together. I would order online for pickup. Had i know i would have done it that way. The staff were friendly and they wore masks.

Visited S&A roti shop January 3rd, 2020 when we visited New York on our road trip. Met her son at the Nike store in Manhattan and he told us about his mom's place. On our way back to Florida we made a slight detour and I must say we were quite impressed on the taste and quality of the food and friendly service we experienced. The best doubles in town staff is friendly and curry shrimp is so good. I new this place was going to be good when the line was out the door on a Saturday. I was too impatient so I went back in a week day and they did not disappoint.

This is a very good Guyanese restaurant. Everything is delicious. The pepper pork is the best. The only downside is they don't know how to make rice. They should invest in a rice cooker. They boil rice in water.

If I could rate this shop a 0 I would. We've been loyal customers for years. I ordered catering from this shop twice within 2 months, spent $600 on food. The second time I ordered food, the food was spoiled. Everyone ate the food and starting having diarrhea from it. I called and spoke to Tony who I placed the order with all he could've told me was that the food was cooked fresh. Then I spoke to Sunita the manager and she told me that if I want a refund that I can get a compensation attorney. I asked if we can't get a refund than what can you do for us, since the food was spoiled she said to get an attorney and hung the phone up. Absolutely horrible customer service, I am so disappointed in their response to this issue. After being a loyal customer for years, I will never support the business again. Do not eat here !

I came here, word of mouth. This place is good. The past couple of times I've been here the wait time is a lot longer than usual. Especially with the pandemic going on the lines are a little longer. But nonetheless well worth the wait. **Pro tip** Please know what you're getting by the time you make it to the front of the line. You have a lot of time to see the food and view the menu by the time you make it to the front. It speeds up the process! **********

I live in VA and whenever I have a chance to visit NYC, or a friend passing through I make sure I order roti skins and other food from Singh's to take back to VA. I have liked their roti because it's big and flaky but this time I thought they were too doughy and thick. I was so disappointed.

I would rate Singh's three and a half stars. We ordered delivery for a late night dinner. My fiancée ordered a couple deluxe doubles (one with beef and one with shrimp) while I had the goat curry roti with a doubles. I enjoyed the doubles more than the roti. I thought the goat meat was a overdone and a bit tough. I had the goat curry with a Dahl puri. I liked this set up a bit more than stuffed roti sandwich. It was cleaner and less soggy through transport.
