About Southold Fish Market
Southold Fish Market Reviews
Always the best! Staff work so hard. Very great food, staff, and fresh fish. Family owned!
The fish market itself has great quality fresh fish to prepare at home however, I have to say the three times I had takeout, the fried dishes were barely edible. French fries were soggy and limp, My “last” attempt, fried calamari, was not edible. Chewy, could not even taste the fish, looked and tasted like it was deep fried days(!) before.

Southold Fish Market is a charming place to enjoy fresh seafood. The shrimp cocktail and lobster roll were delicious, and the fresh seafood for sale looked amazing. They offer a variety of meals like Sesame Seared Tuna Tacos and Bay Scallop basket, both with a choice of fries or salad. The tacos were flavorful with a tasty sesame ginger sauce, while the scallops were sweet and tender. The New England chowder and Lobster BLT were also freshly made and tasty. The market has a great selection of fresh fish, shellfish, smoked fish, eel, and white fish, making it a perfect place to buy seafood. It is a busy spot, especially on weekends, with limited indoor seating and outdoor picnic tables, making it a nice place for a meal, especially in the summer. Everyone at the market is polite and welcoming, and the staff are always helpful. The place has a charming seaside vibe that makes visitors feel like they’ve found a local treasure. Watching people come and go, and buying fish at the counter, adds to the fun experience. Many customers love the fresh, warm lobster roll with bountiful lobster and toasted bun, and enjoy the substantial side salad with juicy beefsteak tomatoes. Overall, Southold Fish Market is a wonderful seafood spot that offers both a small market and eat-in options, making it a favorite for locals and visitors alike.
