Fantastic space with a lively, upscale, upbeat atmosphere. Welcoming, energetic vibe on a Saturday night. We've been there twice with a party of 6, and the food has been excellent both times. The veal chop... to die for! Wonderful service the 1st time. Everything was perfect. It was just ok last week, at best. But they were super busy and perhaps short-handed. In any event, there was an automatic 20% tip applied to the bill, so perhaps the server didn't care to give it her personal best. Still, we'll definitely return and recommend Roost.

The Hostess, who may be the owners wife, incredibly rude. No Vegetarian options. When I asked for one they served me a plate of their veggie appetizers, instead of a meal.

Have been dining at Roost for many years and the food has always been consistent and inventive. Chef Kevin never disappoints. The staff is very attentive and friendly having a good knowledge of the preparation on the dishes. The bar staff have a delicious bar menu that can be great mocktails as well. At times they bring a variety of entertainment to the upstairs venue. Classical, pop, Jazz and Latin music; there is enough room to salsa dance when the Latin music is available. Separate cover for entertainment shows.

Walked in to get a quick drink at the bar before having dinner next-door at Lannis (which was AMAZING). But Roost was Not welcoming unless you had a reservation and quickly dismissive, And this was the second time.

Amazing food (Maryland blue crab soup, thick cut bacon, special branzino and Venison) happy to find Non alcoholic beer choices! Excellent wines by the glass for my wife. Perfect desserts (warm Basque cheesecake, buttermilk panna cotta) Chef Kevin Reilly and Maria Santino run an incredibly warm and inviting establishment. The dining room is very comfortable-beautiful bar! You could immediately feel and taste the restaurant pedigree of chef Reilly in his preparation, selection, and execution of his menu. Never been to Sparkill before, but definitely worth the trip and we will be back.

Good dining experience here. Drinks, ambience, service, and most food items were delicious. But I felt the prices were a tad high for the entrees and my lamb chops were lacking in flavor and salt. Cooked perfectly but kind of bland.

My go to restaurant! Everything is perfection!!! You feel like your away in a New Orleans meets Manhattan vibe The best well planned meals and menu You have to get the shrimp and plantains The cocktail- lavender martini or road to Morocco The sides are heaven Steak is seasoned and cooked to perfection We love sitting at the bar or upstairs. Ambiance is the down stairs is great. I love Roost but my s/o, who just tried it for the first time said it was meh. We both ordered filet medium and his was more medium well and mine was more medium rare. We didn't say anything bc we're just not those ppl. Plan to go back and try they're brunch.

First time here and was amazing... the atmosphere is very warm and inviting, the food was great had the new york strip and Mary crab soup. So fresh and well prepared.... met the owner kevin who is also the executive chef, he is very down to earth and runs a very high quality restaurant that I will be visiting many more times. Great local business!!
