decided to order through doordash tonight. I've been looking for a decent burger nearby, especially after standard abandoned the island right after they got great and cheeburger apparently vanished. I could've just ordered five guys through the app or something, but local businesses are cool and this place has been decently reviewed. probably should've gone with five guys. it took the restaurant nearly an hour to confirm my order with doordash. I placed it around 5:30 and it was confirmed at about 6:15. an order placed at 5:30 that had an ETA of 45 minutes. it finally arrived a touch after 7. that's entirely absurd. that isn't doordash's fault, either. that's the restaurant. I watched the tracker periodically, and one courier bailed and the one that wound up bringing me my food was at the place for quite some time waiting. I've never had this happen. the food finally arrived, and it's not particularly good. the fries with the burger are, I suppose, best described as limp. the burger was cooked perfectly but it's toppings were sort of just okay. could've done with less onion, but that's partially on me for my choices. the mac and cheese is super reminiscent of Stouffer's, from the look to the consistency to the taste. enough that I legitimately wonder if it actually is Stouffer's. it's an uncanny resemblance if it isn't. it's overall a mediocre meal with a completely absurd wait. I get that this isn't exactly what this place is. it's a bar, it's not like bar food is always exceptional. but, I've been to plenty, and I've had food at a lot, and they've generally been decent to shockingly good. this was just sort of a mess. and granted, I got delivery. I don't know how it would be in the building proper, but based on these impressions, I don't really have the highest of hopes.

AMAZING , love the new vibe with the new owners - possibly one of the best burgers ive ever had . great prices , will definitely go back .

Great food and staff. Burgers are excellent. Prices are reasonable. Watch for their specials like 2 for 1 burgers during home hockey games. Lots of planned events.

Ordered from this place off DoorDash, never again. First the sent the wrong food, after an hour wait. Upon calling the " restaurant/bar " the phone number goes to a cell phone, after 2 calls the owner or manager finally answers on a Friday night and says " I'm not at the bar I'm not driving across the island to refund you, until tomorrow morning". Typical SI JO attitude. Proceeds to hang up the phone on me when I tell him door dash says he has 30 min to do so. Lazy, pathetic management. I'd avoid this place all together.
A few weeks ago, I was looking for a place to go for a cheap, quick lunch. I called the place asking if they had any lunch specials available, and the owner said they do and to come on by. He sounded super nice, so I drove right over. I asked for the lunch special menu when seated and was met with blank stares. After ten minutes, the waitress calls the owner and finally found the "lunch special" menu which was just pathetic. I asked her if she was busy because she seemed bothered by me being there, and she said that they were busy because there was a party upstairs. I walked out and probably won't be returning. If you can't balance a party and your customers dining in, then perhaps hire more staff who are more attentive, so customers don't have to waste their time in this place.

I went here last night with my family as well as 4 other families and sat in the side room for a little Christmas get together. The food is absolutely excellent and Bee, our server, was fantastic and very patient. The BBQ is surprisingly very good for a sports bar as well as the pizza. Burgers were huge and very good as well. Beer selection was excellent too. Only issue I had was there was 1 bartender working and she had her hands full. I live a block away and plan on spending more time here for Saturday lunches with the family. Only advice I have is do not go there with the yelp coupon cause getting it honored was like pulling teeth.

Had an amazing time at 1st and 3rd American Bar on Hylan this evening. The apps and burgers we got were simply out of this world and were even more perfect washed down with a pitcher of Blue Moon. Didn't take pics because were hungry greedy kids but you must try the goomba rolls, the BAKED wings, and their burgers. I can't remember which we had but they were enormous and insanely good. Can't wait to come back!

So ordered tonight this experience is based on a take out order not a experience at the bar. But I do plan on visiting and having a few drinks when I get a night. Ordered over the phone was ready pretty quick did a pretty big order for my wife and I. Peanut butter wings Lettuce wrapped chicken with bacon and avocado Also a 1st and 3rd chicken sandwich. And also brisket with side of chili and pork and beans Everything was great and huge portions the star was the wings and the Chili were amazing my wife lover the Sandwich. The brisket was a little tough I'm gonna chalk it up to being late dinner but it had great taste and portion was huge. That Chili though I'll be back for that and the wings ! Great experience I'll be ordering again
