Mike Jr’s Richmond Diner

The food was excellent and so was our waitress. She spoke to us as if she knew us all our lives. We've had this same experience every time we've gone to Mike Jr's. So yes, we will be back and recommended others to go.

I placed a delivery order during the recent snowstorm. The driver arrived and chose to come down the ramp to my back door even though the ramp was packed with snow. She became stuck and then told me, “Next time you’re going to walk up and get your food.”

I found the interaction rude and unprofessional. I understand the weather conditions were difficult, but speaking to customers this way is not appropriate. The delivery occurred around 5:30-6:00pm on and should be connected to my order.

I wanted to report this because it made me hesitant to order again unless the issue is addressed.

2026.01 coldest day for 10 years, starting with a hot coffee, then a 3 egg veggie omelette, big enough portion, make with fresh egg. Listening to the 70’s songs. super chill classic diner. It is the breakfast I like.

The staff are just so kind, smart, quick, and lovely. They handled our large group of 30+ with ease and smiles. The food all came out quickly and tasted great. I'm grateful we found this place.

My family & I came from out of state for a somber event. Our waitress & the hostess were FABULOUS. The diner was decorated merrily for the holidays. Christmas music was playing. It felt like a scene from a movie!! My family enjoyed coffee & dessert. The vibes were so uplifting (and much needed). The dessert - holy smokes!!! Bread pudding, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, 7 layer cake, and triple fudge cake. All homemade and SUPERB!!! Thank you all for bringing smiles to our faces and lifting up our spirits. ❤️

THE ONLY reason I even gave 3 stars was because the amazing women that work here. The owner “z” decided in front of the whole diner to yell at a female waitress instead of taking her to the side to discuss the miscommunication. Everyone that heard him (which was loud enough for the whole place) was in absolute disgust. This will be the last time myself, my table and I’m sure everyone else that was in here eating at this diner ever again. No respect for women or their employees here. Your actions on how you treat your employees reflects on your business. DISGUSTING. Ruined our whole meal.

The older grey haired lady at the register was berating the bus boy for a solid 5 mins bc he wanted to put grated parmesan cheese on his food. She kept repeating “you’re not allowed. Don’t ask again. Stop asking bc you’re not allowed”. The poor kid kept saying “ok”. And she kept repeating herself. She’s too old to be that rude to a teenage coworker. Very poor business.
