I went to this place when it was Mikes and it was very good, fresh REAL food anytime. The new owners are there about 4 or so months as of this writing (10/17) I ordered my usual grilled chicken over a Greek salad. Instead of getting a grilled breast or two over an oval played salad, I got a smaller round plate which had what appeared to be fake rubbery chicken pieces which look nothing like real chicken. Obviously bagged chicken scraps and not real white breast meat. I wouldn't feed it to a dog. My girl ordered the tuna platter today, I plead with her to go somewhere else. She was given the crappiest grade dollar store tuna, if you went anywhere else, you would get nice tuna fish any restaurant would be proud to serve. Not here on the Lane, you get tuna that is unfit for your car. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere, anywhere you can cut corners and offer garbage to your customers, these people are on top of it like white on rice. Stay away from here!!!! UPDATE! This place burned down! I can bet it wasn't from grilling fresh chicken because they don't use fresh chicken. Hopefully someone will reopen this place under new ownership with some fresh food.

I was a regular at Mikes Diner on New Dorp Lane, now called the New Dorp Diner Cafe. They are under new ownership and it has been a change for the WORST!!!! Today was the last time I will ever set foot in this place. First when we came in the manager or owner was yelling at his staff members VERY loudly for a dirty table that had not been cleared. Then when the waitress took our order she was rude, nd didnt even write it on paper which caused her to have to come back and ask AGAIN what we wanted ( not really a big deal, things just kept adding up) My friend and I ordered a philly cheese steak wrap and it tasted bland, no spices or seasoning kinda tasted like dirt... Like a microwaved product. We have ordered this item many times and it used to be delicious! We also ordered a plate of nachos. The tortilla chips were little 99 cent stored chips. The cheese and tomatoes on the plate were obviously cheap and microwaved. Everything tasted like it came out of a can. I also ordered a simple plate of comma on toast. The toast was NOT cinnamon, it was drenched in butter and when i asked for powdered sugar to try to make nthem edible, it took 15 minutes to get it, so at this point my toast was cold. Never coming back here again and I am warning my friends who have moved away and want to come back and eat here when visiting it is NOT THE SAME AND THEY WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. -1 star
